Description

Newton 109-LM is a radon-certified, flexible, single-component, cold-applied, seamless rubber waterproofing membrane with a number of uses for the external waterproofing of earth retaining structures such as basements and foundation walls It is also adept as a detailing membrane for the termination and jointing of other Newton waterproofing products, and with its very high adhesive properties is the perfect primer for adhesion of butyl products to concrete and mortar.

Newton 109-LM is puncture resistant with elasticity of 850% and a 95% recovery memory. The membrane becomes fully engaged into the substrate to prevent water tracking.

The membrane is available in two variants: Medium viscosity (hand-applied) for use in warmer temperatures and low viscosity (spray-applied) for cooler temperatures (supported by BDA Certificate BAB 13-026/01/A). Newton 109-LM is also a constituent product of the Newton HydroBond® System supported by BDA Agrément Certificate BAB 16-031/03/A.

The membrane can be used in isolation or in conjunction with other Newton waterproofing and damp proofing products to provide a coordinated and combined approach to the waterproofing of the whole structure that includes protection against water ingress to the deck, through construction joints, through and around service entries and to movement joints.

Surface preparation is required, as is protection after application - consult manufacturer for details.

  • Suitable substrates for waterproofing include concrete of at least 20 kN, concrete block walls with flush pointing and insulated formwork walls (ICF). For damp proofing and detailing the suitable substrates include concrete, mortar and screeds.
  • CE marked, and manufactured in accordance with EN 1504-2: 2004+A2: 2014.
  • Where the membrane is exposed to UV and weathering, the life expectancy is 10 years.
