Description

Modena is a contemporary railing fence with a stylish appearance for boundary applications. The fence panels are manufactured to a modular format from two or three pairs of mild steel horizontal flat bars, which are electrofused to vertical pales.


Features and benefits:

  • Fences up to 2000 mm have 12 mm solid bar pales, which are domed at top and bottom and 25 x 6 mm horizontal rails.
  • Fence heights greater than 2000 mm have 20 mm diameter CHS vertical pales and 40 x 6 mm horizontal rails.
  • Single leaf, double leaf, pivot, cantilevered or sliding gates are manufactured to match with Modena infill.
  • Optional entry/ exit controls can be supplied for restricted access, with automatic activation in the event of fire alarm.
  • Railing fences are supplied in accordance with BS 1722-9.
  • Panels and posts are supplied galvanized and powder coated in a matt mica grey, for a gun-metal finish as standard.
  • Alternatively, any RAL colour is also available.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Refer to BS 1722 giving consideration to existing ground conditions.
  • Posts to be set in holes 300 to 400 mm square in plan and between 550 and 700 mm in depth, depending on fence height.
  • Holes should be completely filled to a minimum of 50 mm below ground level with concrete mix (minimum strength of C20).

Base plates for fixing to a concrete foundation.

Off-set over top of wall.

Rails

  • Posts.
  • Height from ground: Panels to sit 100 mm (maximum) off the ground.
  • Changes in level: Fence panels stepped to 150 mm (maximum) on standard length post.
  • Post centres to be reduced for steeper gradients (between 1:20 and 1:7).

3 mm stainless steel pins.

M8 self threading screw.

Manufacturer guidance

  • Panels fixed to posts.
  • The horizontal flats of the panels are shaped at the ends to fit into slots on the post.
  • A stainless steel pin inserted at the top of the post locks the panel in place.
  • Alternative fixing designed for sloping sites or un-even ground connects the panel to post with self-threading screws.

Vertical pales set to outside of enclosed area.
