Description

Due to its high thermal performances, the thermally broken MB-104 Passive window meets all the requirements for the components used in passive buildings. This was confirmed by certificates granted by the Passive House Institute (PHI), Darmstadt. The product is intended for the fabrication of external structure elements such as various types of windows, balcony doors, shopfronts and spatial structures, which are highly resistant and characterized by excellent water and airtightness, and thermal and acoustic insulation performance.

Features and benefits:

  • Windows certified by the Passive House Institute (PHI), Darmstadt (MB-104 Passive SI and MB-104 Passive Aero).
  • Excellent weathertightness and thermal insulation performance.
  • A wide range of glazing available, up to 81 mm, allowing for triple and fourfold glazing units.
  • Eurogrooves allow the fitting of most of the available hardware, both for aluminium and PVC windows.
  • Anti-burglary windows and doors up to RC3 class to EN 1627.
  • Possibility to use typical or concealed hinges.
  • Vent height can reach 2700 mm as standard, however higher vents can also be achieved - consult manufacturer for information.
  • Can be integrated with Aluprof Facade Systems.
  • Different internal and external frame colours are available.
  • Can be used with the MB-104 suite of door systems.
  • Various constructions are available with a wide range of mullions, structural mullions, transoms, couplings/ expansion joints, corner solutions and sills. Consult manufacturer for details.

Performance:

  • Air permeability to PN-EN 12207:2001: Class 4.
  • Wind load resistance to PN-EN 12210:2001: C5/ B5.
  • Watertightness to PN-EN 12208:2001: Class AE 1800.
  • Thermal insulation (Uw) from 0.53 W/(m²K). Achieved with MB-104 Passive Aero-based openable window casement size: 1700 x 2100 mm, with glazing Ug: 0.4 W/(m²K).

Fixing

MB-104 window systems are to be installed in accordance to the Aluprof manuals and BS EN 8213-4 (always check for latest edition). All products must be installed by approved Aluprof fabricators. Consult manufacturer for further details.
