Description

Matelux® by AGC Glass Europe is a translucent satin feel acid etched glass. Matelux® is a versatile product that can be toughened, laminated and assembled into double glazed units. An acid-frosting technique is used to gently obscure the surface of the glass. Treating the surface in this way guarantees translucent glass noted for its fine grain and makes it the perfect choice for shower screens and door panels where a level of privacy is required, Matelux® has the same light transmission as float glass, attaining levels of up to 90%, depending on its thickness.

GX Glass stock from 4–12 mm in the float version and 6 mm in the Clearvision low iron version. Matelux® glass can be manufactured with cut outs and holes and be CNC or water jet shaped to drawings or rigid templates and UV Bonded (subject to manufacturing tolerances). Gx Glass produces glass to British and European standards strength and flexibility in accordance with BS EN 12150 and safety up to BS EN 12600 Class 1.

Applications:

Ideal for interior (furniture) and exterior (façades and roofs). The thicker glazing options are available for use in balustrades and doors. The glazing is available in a range of options dependent on application required, contact manufacturer for more information.

Benefits:

  • Translucent, neutral satin-finish glass.
  • Acid-etching is favoured for its fine and homogenous grain.
  • High level of light transmission: Matelux® offers the same level of light transmission; it can be as high as 90% depending on the thickness of the glass.
