BBA approved, certificate 17/5443.

Comprises:

  1. Primer, either:
  2. MARISEAL® 710, a solvent-based polyurethane for porous substrate penetration;
  3. MARISEAL® AQUA PRIMER, a water-based two-part epoxy primer for porous and non-porous substrate penetration; or
  4. MARISEAL® TPO PRIMER, a transparent solvent-based one-component adhesion promoter.
  5. MARISEAL® 250, a cold-applied and cold curing, one-component polyurethane membrane based on elastomeric hydrophobic resins. Used for base and second coat.
  6. MARISEAL® Katalysator, an accelerating additive for use with MARISEAL® 250.
  7. MARISEAL® FABRIC, a non-woven polyester reinforcement (not applicable for systems <1 mm thick).

Preparation

-

Horizontal work

MARISEAL® 710.

Guidance for specification option:

A solvent-based polyurethane for porous substrate penetration.

Coverage rate: 200 g/m² in one layer.

MARISEAL® AQUA PRIMER.

Guidance for specification option:

A water-based two-part epoxy primer for porous and non-porous substrate penetration.

Coverage rate: 100–200 g/m² in one or two coats.

MARISEAL® TPO PRIMER.

Guidance for specification option:

A transparent solvent-based one-component adhesion promoter that activates EPDM membranes.

Coverage rate: 5–60 g/m².

Skirtings and vertical work

As Horizontal work.

Type

Base coat: MARISEAL® 250, 1.2 mm thick.
Second coat: MARISEAL® 250, 1.2 mm thick (over reinforcement).

Guidance for specification option:

The second layer should be applied 12–18 hours after the base coat and no later than 48 hours after the initial coat.

Application can be by brush, roller or airless spray. Brush application is normally only used for small roof areas and for embedding the reinforcement into the waterproofing.

Consult manufacturer's literature for detailed preparations requirements.
