The Levitate balcony system by Balco is a modular, prefabricated solution designed primarily for new-build developments. Its construction features a robust steel frame combined with an aluminium cassette, ensuring durability and structural integrity. The standard flooring consists of non-combustible concrete tiles, with an option for aluminium decking to suit different aesthetic preferences.
This system offers versatility through various balustrade options, including vertical bars in either aluminium or steel, and frameless structural glass for a minimalist appearance. Customization is further enhanced by a selection of RAL colours for handrails and vertical bars, as well as tinted or coloured glass options.
Levitate's modular design facilitates efficient installation. Initial stub-connectors are installed from scaffolding, allowing façade work to proceed without interruption. As scaffolding is removed, Levitate arms are attached, and the balcony units are then slid into place and automatically locked, streamlining the installation process.
The system incorporates controlled drainage with a drip edge to prevent water from cascading onto lower balconies, and offers optional piped drainage to manage water flow via rainwater pipes.
Standard configurations of Levitate are available in twenty-one sizes, with seven widths and three depths in 400mm increments. For projects requiring specific dimensions, bespoke sizes can be accommodated using the optional aluminium decking.

Levitate is manufactured off-site in accordance with our Quality (ISO 9001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) Management Systems.
The foundation of Levitate is the steel frame cassette with the anchoring locations to house our balustrade system, enclosed aluminium soffit and finished floor. Concrete floor tiles come as standard but aluminium decking is also available.
Levitate comes with controlled drainage, including a drip edge which prevents water from cascading onto the balcony below. Piped drainage can also be incorporated into the balcony.
The first part of the installation process can be carried out safely from the scaffold, where stub connectors are installed to the cast-in anchors, which once extended, can allow completion of the external façade works. Once completed, the installation of the Levitate arms can be undertaken as the scaffold is being struck. Levitate then then slides easily onto the Levitate arms and automatically locks into place.
The methodology ensures improved efficiencies on-site and a reduction in crane time due to the ease of installation.
