Application

For use with the Nu-lok™ tile roofing system. Minimum pitch: 5°; consult slate/ tile manufacturer for further requirements.

Description

Tile Support (TS) through-fix, trapezoidal profiled, polyisocyanurate insulated roof panel system designed to work in conjunction with the Nu-lok™ tile roofing system.

Features and benefits:

  • Supports slates or tiles.
  • Provides all of the advantages of insulated panel technology with the aesthetic appeal of a traditional vernacular roof finish.
  • Panels are immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
  • No urea-formaldehyde is used in the construction.
  • Panels are not deleterious.
  • An air leakage rate of 3 m³/hr/m² at 50 Pa or less can be achieved when the full building envelope is constructed using Kingspan panels.
  • Cover width: 1000 mm. Also available in a cover width of 2000 mm; consult manufacturer for details.

Applications:

For use with the Nu-lok™ tile roofing system. Minimum pitch: 5°; consult slate/ tile manufacturer for further requirements.

Approvals:

CE marked to BS EN 14509: 2013.

- Fire:

  • The external and internal faces of the panel to be Class 0 in accordance with the Building Regulations when tested to BS 476: Part 6: 2009 and Part 7: 1997).
  • The panel is rated SAA when tested to BS 476 Part 3: 2004.
  • FIREsafe: FM 4471 – Class 1 Roof panel systems
  • Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) approved to LPS 1181 (limited to a maximum tile weight of 54 kg/m²).

Framed roof structure to be specified separately to include the following as required:

  • Multibeam purlins.
  • Multibeam eaves beams.
  • Cold-formed cleader angles.
  • Purlin cantilevers.
  • Cladding junctions.
  • Multichannel platform supports.
  • Multichannel trimmers.
  • Rafter stays (RNA/ RNB).

Warranties:

  • Maintenance and inspection free external coating: 40 years. Manufacturer’s external coating warranty to be available on project completion and be fully transferrable for future changes of building ownership.
  • Thermal performance: 25 years.
  • Structural performance: 25 years.

  • Kingspan XL Forté™, colour: Multi-layer organic coating, embossed with a traditional leather-grain finish.

- Internal facing:

  • Bright white polyester: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels. Standard colour is “bright white” with an easily cleaned surface.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe: Developed for use as the internal lining of insulated panels to suit high humidity internal environments.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe 55: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels to swimming pool internal environments.
  • Kingspan CLEANsafe 120: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels where a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is required, and the panels are to be cleaned down on a regular basis.
  • Stainless steel: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels in buildings with a very aggressive or corrosive internal environment.

- Length:

  • Standard lengths: 1.8–14.5 m, or insert drawing reference.
  • Non-standard lengths of <1.8 m or 14.5–29.3 m are available on request; consult manufacturer for details.

- Primary fasteners

  • Minimum two fasteners for each purlin position at sides of panel. Subject to wind loading; consult manufacturer's installation guide for details.
  • There may also be a requirement for applying a 4 mm diameter butyl rubber sealant / gun-grade vapour seal at the base of the side joint, dependant on project specification.

- Secondary fasteners:

- End laps:

  • 38 mm-long tail stitching screws with 19 mm sealing washers. Five per panel, applied from centre outwards, ensuring stitching screws penetrate the factory fitted stitching plate.

- Side joints:

  • Snap-on cover caps; Stitching screw or sealed rivet at eaves or through capping end lap. Anti-condensation tape (factory applied) between panels.
  • At all ridge locations, gun grade sealant to be applied across the panel side joints in line with the profiled ridge filler location, to close off the cover cap end.
