Standard product features

Panel:

- Cover width:

1000 mm

- Single figure weighted sound reduction index (Rw):

25 dB.

Product Options

Roof pitch:

Pitches below 4° will require the external sheet of the panel to be turned for weathering on site as follows:

  • At the eaves: Turned down, typically by 20°.
  • At the ridge: Turned up, typically by 45°.

Roofing panels:

- External facing:

- Colour/ Finish:

  • ARS abrasion resistant: 28 µm-thick polyester or polyurethane resin reinforced with polyamide high durability coating with exceptionally good handling characteristics.
  • Kingspan XL Forté™, colour: Multi-layer organic coating, embossed with a traditional leather-grain finish.
  • Kingspan Spectrum, colour: Coated semi-gloss finish with slight granular effect.
  • Mill finish: Stucco embossed with lacquer.
  • Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), colour: 25 µm-thick stoved fluorocarbon coating which has excellent colour stability even at temperatures as high as 120°C

- Internal facing:

- Colour/ Finish:

  • CLEANsafe 15: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels. Standard colour is “bright white” with an easily cleaned surface.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe: Developed for use as the internal lining of insulated panels to suit high humidity internal environments.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe 55: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels to swimming pool internal environments.
  • Kingspan CLEANsafe 120: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels where a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is required, and the panels are to be cleaned down on a regular basis.
  • Stainless steel: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels in buildings with a very aggressive or corrosive internal environment.

- Weight (0.5/ 0.4 mm steel):

  • 0.18 W/m²K: 12.5 kg/m².
  • 0.21 W/m²K: 11.9 kg/m².
  • 0.25 W/m²K: 11.1 kg/m².
  • 0.31 W/m²K: 10.3 kg/m².
  • 0.46 W/m²K: 9.7 kg/m².

- Length:

  • Standard lengths: 1.8–14.5 m, or insert drawing reference
  • Non-standard lengths of 14.5–29.3 m or <1.8 m are available on request; consult manufacturer for details.

- Primary fasteners:

  • Minimum two fasteners for each purlin position at sides of panel. Subject to wind loading; consult manufacturer's installation guide for details.
  • There may also be a requirement for applying a 4 mm diameter butyl rubber sealant / gun-grade vapour seal at the base of the side joint, dependant on project specification.

- Secondary fasteners:

- End laps:

  • 38 mm-long tail stitching screws with 19 mm sealing washers. Five per panel, applied from centre outwards, ensuring stitching screws penetrate the factory fitted stitching plate.

- Side joints:

  • Snap-on cover caps; Stitching screw or sealed rivet at eaves or through capping end lap. Anti-condensation tape (factory applied) between panels.
  • At all ridge locations, gun grade sealant to be applied across the panel side joints in line with the profiled ridge filler location, to close off the cover cap end.

Rooflights:

Rooflights are to be specified fully elsewhere - see Kingspan Light + Air or consult manufacturer for details.

Kingspan Energy:

- Solar photovoltaics:

Rooftop Solar PV can be installed onto insulated roof panels - consult manufacturer for details.
