  • Alternative to Raised Access Floor where continuous finishes are being applied
  • Suitable for substrate to ceramics, porcelain, micro cement/screed or other hard finishes.

Description

Knauf GIFAfloor creates strong versatile flooring systems

Knauf GIFAfloor systems use highly engineered, structural dry screed panels made from sustainable materials. Fibres from wholly recycled paper are blended with a mix of natural and flue gas desulphurised gypsum to create non-combustible gypsum fibreboard panels with an A1 fire rating.

Knauf GIFAfloor panels are manufactured in a lamination process and pressed to the optimum density, resulting in an inherently strong and consistent product.

Engineered tongue and grooved edge profiles ensure a strong bond when laid, creating robust monolithic floors with excellent load-bearing capability, the ideal substrate for a wide range of finishes, including natural stone or porcelain finishes. The addition of frames and panels can be incorporated to give access into the void below the floor.

GifaFloor is a fantastic alternative to traditional wet screed as there is no long drying time. The floor is walkable within hours of being installed

Features and benefits:

  • Load bearing gypsum fibre panels.
  • A1 non-combustible fire rating.
  • Dimensionally stable & robust.
  • Suitable substrate for hard finishes.
  • EPD certified product.
  • Manufactured from highly recycled content.
  • Low Embodied Carbon
  • 100% and easily recycled at end of life.
  • Indoor Air Quality Gold - Eurofins Certified
  • Easy to lay and quick to walk on.
  • Installed directly to pedestals to suit voids from 19.5mm-1425mm
  • Removes need to install Raised Access Floor where continuous finishes are required
  • Finishes can be installed directly, without the need for de-coupling layers
  • Excellent acoustic properties due to high density material
  • Building lifetime warranty

Manufacturer guidance

Structural performance: Load Class 3–6 to BS EN 13213. Higher structural loadings possible - contact manufacturer.

Subfloor preparation

Prime the unfinished floor surface.

Guidance for specification option:

The substrate must have the minimum load-bearing capacity for the load transfer via the raised floor pedestals. The substrate must be solid, dry, and free of separating agents such as bitumen, oils or paints. Sweep and vacuum the unfinished floor thoroughly. Prime the unfinished floor surface, e.g. suitable PVA based sub floor sealer.
