Application

  • Stainless steel windposts for use in cavity wall or solid wall construction providing lateral restraint to supporting walls.
  • The masonry should be built in accordance with BS EN 1996-2.
  • Wall ties should be installed into the mortar joint with a minimum embedment of 50 mm.
  • Do not cut windposts to length or modify them in any way without consulting a Keystone engineer. 

Description

Keystone Windposts span vertically between floors to provide additional lateral support for large panels of brickwork or large panels with openings. Supplied with specially designed base connections and top connections appropriate for each construction configuration. Windposts have pre-cut slots to accommodate the required number of wall ties designed for the masonry coursing. Supplied with a suitable number of wall-ties which will vary in relation to the post type and the cavity width. Special lengths available in all ranges to suit parapets or below windows.

U Windpost:

  • The U windpost is a channel section designed for standard loading conditions and is installed within the cavity.

DU Windpost:

  • The DU windpost is a "back to back" channel section designed for heavier loading conditions and is installed within the cavity.

LP Windpost:

  • The LP windpost is an "L" shaped section designed to suit a range of loading conditions and is built into the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
