Application

Description

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the hot melt aspect of the IKO Permatec inverted roof system arrives at your site in fully dispersible 12kg blocks. This ensures ease of handling and installation efficiency. The standard inverted roof build-up is a fully bonded system, where every element seamlessly integrates to create a robust protective barrier. With Permatec, every layer works cohesively, ensuring sound structural integrity and weatherproofing capabilities. Exposed detailing is made UV stable through the application of the IKO Permaguard-M Torch-On Capsheet.

Guidance for specification option:

Permaguard-HDPB is a 3 mm thick high density polymeric protection board with high impact resistance for use in heavy-duty situations. It is installed into the second coat of Permatec Compound whilst it is still hot.

2 no. coats of IKO Permatec Ecowrap hot melt compound, plus IKO Permaguard-PB.

Guidance for specification option:

Permaguard-PB is a 3.2 mm thick protection board, fabricated with a bituminous core and glass fibre reinforcement. It is installed into the second coat of Permatec Compound whilst it is still hot.

IKO PermaFLASH-D150.

Guidance for specification option:

A nominal 1.25 mm thick flexible bitumen EPDM polymer detailing sheet. A reinforcement layer of PermaFLASH-D150 should be applied prior to applying the PermaTEC membrane at all non-monolithic changes in substrate materials, at structural/shrinkage cracks between 3 and 6 mm wide, at structural joints between 6 and 12 mm wide and where minor movement may occur.

Guidance for specification option:

A flexible bitumen EPDM polymer detailing sheet, installed as a reinforcement layer around rainwater outlets.

IKO PermaFLASH-UN.

Guidance for specification option:

At structural movement joints up to 25 mm (maximum 50% total movement), PermaFLASH-UN reinforcement must be installed fully bonded in hot Permatec compound centrally over the movement joint.


At structural movement joints between 12 and 50 mm (maximum 50% total movement), a proprietary joint system must be installed. Consult manufacturer for suitable products.

Upstand

Exposed upstand details: IKO PermaGUARD-M Torch On (T-O) protection layer.
