Details:

IAE’s Playspec playground fencing is a bowtop metal railing system specifically designed to comply with BS EN 1176 Playground Equipment and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) safety standards.

The Playspec system is available in two standard heights of 1000mm and 1200mm. Special heights can be designed and manufactured on request.

The railing panels are made from carbon steel which is hot dip galvanised to BS EN 1461 standards. An optional polymer powder coating finish can be applied with a choice of colours available.

The panel is made up of 12mm diameter round vertical bars welded to 40x8mm flat horizontal rails to form a solid structure.

To comply with the BS EN 1176 Playground Equipment and RoSPA safety standards the vertical bars are spaced at 96mm centres. This spacing reduces the gap between the bars to 84mm so children cannot get between the bars and become trapped.

The heights of the bow top are also reduced to 65mm to prevent a child trapping their head over the top of the railing.

The fencing panels are supplied with 50x50 square hollow section posts. 

The posts include welded caps and pre-cut holes for panel fittings. 

For full length fencing panels in long fencing runs the posts need to be installed spaced at 2800mm centres. Post centres can be reduced for bespoke length panels where required.

The panels are fitted to the posts using loose angle cleats and secured in place using bolts and permacone security fasteners.

The loose angle cleats are slotted and allow for some flexibility when installing the panels.

The slots allow the cleats to be slid up and down and can account for inclines of up to 0.6 degrees along the fencing run.

Specially designed and manufactured fencing panels can be supplied for inclines over 0.6 degrees.

Gates:

Matching gates are available for the Playspec playground fencing system.

The IAE Prosafe Self Closing gate is very popular and includes a hydraulic unit to automatically close the gates after someone has passed through. 

Manual gates are also available from stock, including a 1200mm wide pedestrian gate, and 3000mm wide double leaf maintenance access gate wide enough to allow vehicles for grass cutting and general upkeep of the play area.  

Bespoke gates can also be designed and manufactured to order.

All gates in the Playspec and Prosafe range are designed to be anti-trap and eliminate pinch points for maximum safety.
