Hempadur Multi-Strength 45753

A self-priming, two-component, high build, pure epoxy paint which cures to an abrasion and corrosion resistant coating.


Features and benefits:

  • As a finishing coat where a cosmetic appearance is of less importance.
  • As a ballast tank coating for special purposes such as chemical carriers carrying hot cargoes and other purposes where “pure epoxy coating” is requested.
  • Maximum, dry exposure only: 140°C (284°F) In water (no temperature gradient): 50°C (122°).
  • Has a tendency to yellow after application. This will have no influence on the performance.
  • High mechanical resistance.
  • High surface tolerance.


Certificates / Approvals:

  • Recognized Abrasion Resistant Ice Coating. Consult Hempel for specific Type Approval Certificates.
  • Meets requirements for internal use in pipelines for power generation when tested according to NS 5417 (Norwegian standard).


Product compatibility:

  • Previous coat: None or according to Hempel’s specification.
  • Subsequent coat: None or according to Hempel’s specification. Recommended products are: Hempadur, Hempathane.


Application method:

Airless spray.


Drying time:

Determined for dry film thickness 200 micron (7.9 mils) at standard conditions. Indicative values at 20ºC; Touch dry: 2.5 hours, Hard dry: 4 hours, Fully cured: 7 days.
