Description

Hard wearing and adaptable chemical-resistant waste pipework for hospitals, laboratories, chemical plants, commercial kitchens, dairies, food packaging plants and other commercial environments. The pipework can be installed on-site or prefabricated, embedded in concrete or underground.

HDPE is safe to use with pH values from 0–14 and is resistant to ultra violet light as well as over 750 chemicals. It is safe to use for temperatures of up to 80°C, while temperatures of up to 100°C are permissible for short periods and is equally suited to freezing temperatures as it adapts elastically to cope with expansion, remaining completely intact and undamaged after thawing.

HDPE is unbreakable at room temperature and offers excellent impact resistance even at temperatures of -40°C. Even when crushed or bent, it will return to its original state.

Because of its paraffinic structure, Geberit HDPE is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals including radioactive effluents. It is insoluble in all inorganic and organic solutions at 20°C. It is only soluble in aliphatic and aromatic carbons and their chlorinating products at over 90°C. The material is corroded by heavily oxidized media (concentrate HNO3, concentrate H2SO4) over long periods at room temperature.

The system offers a range of jointing methods to suit all applications and installation methods, either on or off-site. Options include butt welding, electroweld coupling, screw thread jointing and ring-seal jointing.
