Application

Suitable for use in change of use and refurbishment developments, when there is no access to the floor above.

Description

HD1045 Hush Multi Panel MF System is ideal for adding sound insulation to a separating floor/ceiling construction in conversion projects where access to the floor above is not possible.

This ceiling-side only solution is a fully tested sound absorbent system. As it treats the ceiling very effectively, it does not require the installation of a floating floor in the rooms above.

HD1045 complies with all UK Building Regulations relating to the passage of sound within buildings - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland), and represents a versatile option for the acoustic treatment of separating floors in conversion/material change of use projects.

How the HD1045 system is formed:

  • After the original ceiling is removed, Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorber panels are installed between the joists. These slabs are tightly packed between the joists and ensure there are no gaps.
  • Hush MF Ceiling is then installed to the underside of the joists using the Hush Acoustic Hangers. A minimum 150mm void is created from the underside of the joists to the back of the ceiling lining.
  • More Hush Slab 100 panels are then installed within the ceiling grid, again fitted tightly within the MF Ceiling System with no gaps.
  • Hush Multi Panel is then attached to the underside of the Hush MF Ceiling System and over-boarded with a layer of 15mm Fireline Plasterboard.

Features and benefits:

  • Improves acoustic performance without needing access to the floor above or disrupting it.
  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.

Acoustic Performance*

Impact (L’nT,w) - 62 dB
