  • Houses and apartments
  • Offices
  • Schools and colleges
  • Healthcare buildings
  • Industrial buildings

Description

The HD1043 system from Hush Acoustics is designed to help reduce sound transmission in separating floors which feature screeds such as concrete.

This fully developed and tested solution provides an economical sound insulation system for this type of separating floor in all kinds of refurbishment, conversion or new build project.

Key to the system’s performance is the combination of high quality sound insulation materials, including Hush Overscreed Acoustic Membrane. This consists of a fine granulate of recycled rubber with a cork and PU elastomer bonding agent, providing a resilient layer suitable for use under most floor finishes.

HD1043 also features the Hush MF system to create a service void whilst allowing for the installation of a high performance sound absorber layer - Hush Slab 100.

Performance is confirmed by HD1043’s compliance with the UK Building Regulations concerning acoustic insulation for separating floors - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Part G (Northern Ireland) and Section 5 (Scotland).

Features and benefits:

  • For use in refurbishment, conversion or new build development with a concrete/ screed structure.
  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.
  • Creates a service void at ceiling level.

How the system is constructed:

  • The Hush Overscreed Acoustic Membrane is laid onto the screed and bonded to it using Hush Contact Adhesive. This acoustic membrane covers the entire screeded floor and only suitable floor finishes are to be applied over it.
  • The Hush MF Ceiling system is installed to the underside of the concrete structure and a clear 150 mm void is created.
  • Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorber slabs are installed within the MF Ceiling System, leaving a clear 50mm void.
  • Two layers of 12.5 mm Soundbloc are then fitted to the underside of the Hush MF Ceiling System which are skim finished.

Acoustic Performance *

  • Impact (L’nT,w) - 48 dB.
  • Airborne (DnT,w) - 64 dB.
  • Airborne (DnT,w + Ctr) - 53 dB.

* Results based on the full Hush System HD1043 to be installed as described with all flanking noise paths treated if needed.
