Application

Sound reduction system suitable for use in refurbishment and conversion developments where a timber joisted structure is in place.

Description

HD1013 Hush System 2003 Plus is a highly effective solution for providing sound insulation for separating floors which feature timber joists in both new build and refurbishment projects.


High performance acoustic materials are combined into a fully tested complete system, which complies with all UK Building Regulations relating to sound reduction - Approved Document E (England and Wales), Part G (Northern Ireland) and Section 5 (Scotland).

How HD1013 Hush System 2003 Plus is formed:

  • Hush Panel 28 soundproof floor panels, all of which have tongue and groove joints glued using Hush Bond, are laid over 19 mm plasterboard plank and 18/ 22 mm chipboard deck, with all perimeters sealed using Hush Seal 20.
  • Hush Slab 100 sound insulation slabs are fitted between joists with Hush Bars screw-fixed to the underside of joists at 600 mm centres.
  • One layer of 12.5 mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard and one layer of 15 mm Gyproc Fireline plasterboard secured to Hush Bars, with all perimeters sealed prior to skimming.
