HD1012 Hush System 2003

The Hush Acoustics HD1012 System 2003 is a fully tested and economical sound insulation system designed for separating floors in refurbishment projects where the floor construction features timber joists.

The system utilises Hush Acoustics' high quality sound insulation materials to provide an effective treatment for reducing airborne and impact sound transmission. This is achieved by the creation of a floating floor by installing Hush-Panel 28 acoustic boards, in conjunction with joist strips, seals, absorbers and Hush-Bar resilient bars.

HD1012 is a fully tested complete system, which means complete assurance that it will deliver the acoustic upgrade sought in refurbishment projects. It is also compliant with all the relevant UK Building Regulations - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland). And a 1 hour fire resistance at ceiling level is provided too.

How the Hush Acoustic HD1012 System 2003 is formed:

• Hush-Panel 28, with all tongue and groove joints glued using Hush-Bond, is laid over Hush-10 Joist Strips, secured to joist tops as instructed, and all perimeters are sealed using Hush-Seal 20.
• At the ceiling side, Hush-Slab 100 sound absorber slabs are fitted between the joists with Hush-Bars screw fixed to the underside of joists at 600mm centres and at right angles to the joists.
• One layer of 12.5mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard and one layer of 15mm Gyproc Fireline plasterboard is secured to Hush-Bars and all perimeters are sealed prior to skimming.

• Airborne (DnTw) - 54 dB.
• Airborne (DnTW+Ctr) - 45 dB.

* Results based on 200mm timber joists at 450mm centres.
