GL 250-03 Loft Access Doors

The GL250-03 range of drop down loft access doors provides an unobtrusive and cost effective alternative to traditional loft space access. The door has a twist action; three point locking mechanism and can be hinged down or be removed from the frame completely for unobstructed access into the roof space. Various insulation options are available to meet the various thermal requirements of the Building Regulations.

The GL250-03 range of drop down loft access doors is comprised of a single frame and door combination which is available with a selection of insulation variations mounted to the rear of the door to help meet various thermal requirements. The standard door and frame of the product have the following attributes:

Features and benefits:

• Manufactured from high impact injection moulded polystyrene with expanded polyurethane seals.
• Doors have a twist action, three point closing mechanism together with a hinge system, allowing the door to be hinged down or completely removed from the frame, providing unobstructed access to the loft.
• Units are light textured, white finished, and suitable for receiving alternative paint finishes.
• The products have a fitting size of 562 x 726 mm with a picture frame surround with an overall size of 656 x 821 mm.
• The GL250-03 drop down/ lift out access door meet the British Standard recommendation for a leakage rate of <1 m³ at a pressure differential of 2 Pa, and the Building Regulations Part L2A ‘reasonable limit ’ for the design air permeability of buildings of 10 m³/h.m² at 50 Pa.
• Draught seals are located to seal between both the frame and the ceiling, and the door and the door frame, preventing the problem of moist, warm air entering the roof space.

• Meets the air leakage requirements of Part L of The Building Regulations.
• Insulated with 150 mm of polyurethane (PU) to achieve a U-value of 0.15 W/m²K.

- Type GL250-03L (PU) Part L compliant door:

• A Part L Compliant version of the GL250-03 door.
• Meets the recommended U-values outlined in Robust Construction Details.
• Meets the air leakage requirements of Part L of The Building Regulations.
• Insulated with 60 mm of polyurethane (PU) to achieve a U-value of 0.35 W/m²K.

- Type GL250-03L (EPS) Part L compliant door:

• A Part L Compliant version of the GL250-03 door.
• Meets the recommended U-values outlined in Robust Construction Details.
• Meets the air leakage requirements of Part L of The Building Regulations.
