Application

For sealing joints or cracks in asphalt or concrete.

Description

Flexi®Range services are based on the proven FlexiJoint system. The sealant is a specially blended polymer modified bituminous screed system incorporating SBS polymers, selected bitumens, process oils and extenders. Combining a uniform distribution of chopped fibres and aggregates, the Flexi-Range provides a stable and effective treatment to reflective cracking with improved elastomeric performance for easy and rapid application.

Flexi®Range provides various reflective crack treatments to be chosen depending on the surface condition and locality. Once sealed further deterioration above or below the surface interlayers will be prevented subsequently reducing any further reflective cracks. All of the Flexi-Range systems can be dressed with an aggregate finish, to produce a durable, non-reflective, high SRV finish.

Flexi®Band

Preparation with the hot compressed air lance system cleans and dries the area, the Polymer Modified binder compound is then applied by screed box. Combining a uniform distribution of chopped fibres and aggregates the Flexi®Band product provides a stable and effective treatment to reflective cracking, with improved elastomeric performance for easy and rapid application.

Flexi®Seal

Cracks are cut out with a diamond abrasive saw to leave a uniform channel, typically 12 mm wide and 20 mm deep. This is cleaned and dried with a hot air lance and sealed flush plus or minus 3 mm with the existing road surface using the sealant. The joint material lays in the wearing course, not merely on the surface, ensuring long term durability.

Flexi®Screed

Where damage is too severe for treatment by Flexi®Band alone, the surface is mechanically planed out to the width agreed with the client and to a depth of up to 20 mm, to ensure a stable base and boundaries for the filling. Cleaning and drying with the hot air lance system is followed by the application of the Polymer Modified sealant. Surface finish is lightly rolled hot aggregate dressing that provides a long-lasting repair with the non-reflective appearance and high skid resistance.

Flexi®Joint

For repairs of greater depth, the versatile Flexi®Joint system adds stability. After excavation, the surfaces are cleaned and dried, a bitumen impregnated glass fibre gauze underlay is then put in place. The filler is aggregate, thoroughly cleaned, heated and coated with the Polymer Modified sealant and compacted by a roller. A coating of the binder is then screeded across the area to provide a watertight seal, and surface dressed with a durable, non-reflective, high skid-resistant hot aggregate.
