Fire Shutter - Fireroll EW
Application

The product can be utilized in any application where fire compartmentation is required, and is suited to applications where radiated heat is considered an issue, such as exhibition halls and warehousing.

Description

Fire-tested to EN 1634-1 and rated EW120 or EW90 (dependent on size) in accordance with EN 13501-2, EN13241, EN16034 and EN 15269-10. CE Marked accordingly.

The curtain infill insulation considerably reduces the risk of combustible materials igniting on the non-fire side of the opening particularly when compared to single skin fire shutters.

When tested, the radiation transfer remained below the pass/ fail criterion of 15 kW/m², therefore making the Fireroll EW suitable for protecting personnel.

Features and benefits:

  • Operation: Electrical operation is by means of a 230 V nominal single-phase or 400 V nominal three-phase Speedsafe motor mounted on one end plate. Standard operation is via a low-level push button station with emergency stop button. A pull cord and hand chain are provided for use in the event of power failure.
  • Fire activation: In a fire condition, activation is initiated by an incoming 24 V DC signal (037 A) from the fire alarm system. Closure is by gravity with a controlled descent.
  • Curtain: Constructed from 100 mm flat section steel laths with acoustic/ fire-resisting infill and steel end locks fitted to the laths to prevent lateral movement.
  • Bottom rail: Standard lath fitted with a galvanized steel trim section.
  • Guides: Side guides are formed from steel double-rebate channels that are prepared for fixing to the opening structure by means of continuous fixing angles.
  • Roller: Manufactured from carbon steel tube of sufficient diameter and wall thickness to resist deflection, and is mounted in bearings on each end plate. A safety brake is included to comply with the safeguarding requirements of EN 12604.
  •  End Plates: Fabricated from carbon steel of adequate thickness relative to door size, supplied with angles for fixing to the structure.
  • Casing: A galvanized steel casing is supplied as standard to maintain the fire seal at the head.
