Standard product features

Fire resistance:

30 minutes.

Stud centres:

600 mm.

Linings:

One layer of 12.5 mm and one layer of 10 mm Fermacell Gypsum-Fibreboard to one side and one layer of Fermacell Powerpanel H20 to the other side. Ensure correct jointing method for board type.

N.B. For Powerpanel H2O - ALL joints must be fully supported / backed.

- Fixings:

Fermacell Side - first layer 30 mm Fermacell screws at 400 mm centres and second layer 40 mm Fermacell screws at 250 mm centres.

Powerpanel H2O Side - 35 mm Powerpanel screws at 250 mm centres.

Fermacell finishing:

Fermacell Fine Surface Treatment (FST) to Fermacell Boards only.

Powerpanel Surface Finish to Powerpanel H2O Boards.

N.B. Tiles must NOT be fixed over Powerpanel Surface Finish.

Insulation (minimum density):

40 mm mineral wool: 50 kg/m³.

60 mm mineral wool: 25 kg/m³.

Recycled content:

Best Fermacell gypsum fibreboard contains 100% recycled content. All by-products recyclable.

Other requirements:

All Powerpanel H2O joints must also be reinforced with an alkali resistant 70 mm Glass Fibre Mesh reinforcement Tape embedded into the Powerpanel surface finish.

Fire stopping around service penetrations. Frame out openings with the same number of layers of board as per above specification. Sockets backed using baffle boxes, intumescent putty pads or suitable rock mineral wool, sufficient to maintain the fire/acoustic performance.

Movement joints are required at maximum 8 linear metre intervals.

Refer to manufacturer's literature. Vapour barrier as required for high humidity areas.

For tiled areas reduce studs to 400 mm centres as required Tile adhesive to be suitable for gypsum based or Cement based substrates (dependant on board type).

Provide door reinforcement as required to suit door weights and opening size. Ensure no vertical joints at door jambs.

Offset all board joints by minimum 200 mm.

For Powerpanel H2O - ALL joints must be fully supported / backed.

  • In Swimming Pool and other corrosive environments, the steel studs and associated components must have additional Corrosion Protection - e.g. C5 coating.
  • 50 mm Fermacell DIN Standard Steel (50 mm fixing face, 0.6 mm gauge).
  • 75 mm Fermacell DIN Standard Steel (50 mm fixing face, 0.6 mm gauge).
  • 100 mm Fermacell DIN Standard Steel (50 mm fixing face, 0.6 mm gauge).

Partition performance (based on stud type):

- 50 mm stud:

  • Height (maximum): 3.00 m.
  • Thickness (overall): 85 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 56 dB.

- 75 mm stud:

  • Height (maximum): 4.50 m.
  • Thickness (overall): 110 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 56 dB.

- 100 mm stud:

  • Height (maximum): 5.32 m.
  • Thickness (overall): 135 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 56 dB.
