Esavian Flatfold

Description

A steel framed, bottom rolling, folding door, designed for use in small aircraft and helicopter hangars.

For openings up to 8 m high and 30 m in width.

Features:

  • Bottom rolling doors on a single track. When closed all leaves of the doors are flat and parallel to the line of the track. When open all leaves fold to either side into parking areas – revealing the whole aperture.
  • Door leaves are constructed from cold rolled galvanised steel lipped channels as stiles, with galvanized channel rails and braces.
  • The sliding posts are manufactured from rectangular hollow steel sections, hot dipped galvanised after fabrication. The leaves are hinged to the uprights using very heavy duty offset hinges. All hinges are zinc plated.
  • Sliding posts are fitted with galvanized steel pressings which incorporate vertical EPDM compressible weather seals. The joints between the leaves are sealed with double EPDM compressible seals mating with extruded aluminium trims for weather sealing and security.
  • Each power mullion comprises a vertical fabricated box assembly which houses the drive motor and electrical equipment. The bottom of each power mullion is fitted with two track wheels. Four guide rollers are fitted at the top. The doors are driven by rotation of the winch drums engaging with a static steel cable within the floor track.
  • A feature of Esavian door design is that all main electrical controls, limit switches and door sensors are positioned at a low level for ease of maintenance.
  • The control panel for each drive unit is mounted within the power mullion. Standard equipment includes a secondary low voltage control circuit, an audible alarm incorporating a time delay and a terminal for push buttons and limit switches.
  • Control panels are fitted with an inverter-controlled, variable-speed drive system. This enables the setting of different speeds for the doors as well as accurate rates of acceleration and braking – with no snatch.
  • Braking is controlled by the inverter and its brake resistor – only when the door is at rest is the mechanical brake applied.
  • The variable speed control system meets the (European) CEN standards for industrial doors which requires that when a door is within 500mm of its end position it can be stopped within 50mm. A two-stage limit switch assembly is fitted to achieve this.
