EGGER Eurodekor Flammex Flame Retardant Faced MDF E1E05 TSCA ST
Flammex Eurodekor board products offer specifiers more flexibility in designs with fire retardant requirements.
Using the same carbon negative, wood-based core of standard Eurodekor MDF, Flammex boards contain an intumescent barrier paper beneath the decor layer on both sides of the board.
Under the influence of heat, the intumescent agent in the barrier paper starts a multi-stage chemical reaction which results in the formation of a carbon foam. The foam has an insulating effect on the underlying material, so less heat reaches the surface of the core board. This slows down the burning process and delays the spread of fire.
Flammex Eurodekor boards are finished with decorative surfaces that match those of standard finishes in the EGGER Decorative Collection. There is no change to the design aesthetic, which offers increased value engineering opportunities in flame retardant design.
