Description

Flammex Eurodekor board products offer specifiers more flexibility in designs with fire retardant requirements.

Using the same carbon negative, wood-based core of standard Eurodekor MDF, Flammex boards contain an intumescent barrier paper beneath the decor layer on both sides of the board.

Under the influence of heat, the intumescent agent in the barrier paper starts a multi-stage chemical reaction which results in the formation of a carbon foam. The foam has an insulating effect on the underlying material, so less heat reaches the surface of the core board. This slows down the burning process and delays the spread of fire.

Flammex Eurodekor boards are finished with decorative surfaces that match those of standard finishes in the EGGER Decorative Collection. There is no change to the design aesthetic, which offers increased value engineering opportunities in flame retardant design.

Features and benefits:

  • Flammex Eurodekor board products include medium density chipboard (MFC) and melamine-faced medium density fibreboard (MFMDF) to cover multiple aspects of design (MFC specified separately).
  • Offers verified safety for interiors with increased passive fire protection requirements, Egger products meet the specifications of international standards.
  • Classified according to EN 13501-1 as Class B – flame-retardant with very limited contribution to fire.
  • Implementation of projects with increased fire safety requirements.
  • Decor and material combination with non-fire-retardant products for a holistic design.
  • Medium level of smoke development.
  • Low heat release, with no burning droplets.
  • High transverse tensile strength and edge stability.
  • Low swelling behavior.
  • Easy profiling.
