Description

Galvanized 'C' section wall studs prefixed 'CS' from 70 to 340 mm wide. Galvanized channel head and floor track prefixed 'CR' and 'UR' sized to suit wall studs.

Ayrshire Steel Framing can be used as a self-supporting load bearing structural frame or to form the inner leaf of the external wall of a concrete, or hot rolled steel framed building. The studs act as integral wind posts. The system is designed, for warm frame applications, so that the studs are warm and dry. This ensures long life without the expense of using stainless steel.

With optimal wall thickness, the studs also provide space for wiring and plumbing, support for dry lining and zones for enough insulation to match and exceed the recommended Building Regulation Part L, U value requirements.

The system can use individual components assembled in-situ, or factory assembled into bare or clad panels.

Typical cladding applications and system performance:

  • Insulated render systems.
  • Rainscreen secret fix panels.
  • Rainscreen through-fix panel system.
  • Brick outer leaf.
  • Stone cladding panels.
  • Terracotta tiles on vertical rails.

Sample performance:

  • Thermal U-value: 0.3–0.15 W/m²K.
  • Sound insulation: 48–57 dB (Rw).
  • Fire resistance: 30–120 minutes.
  • Wind loads: Distributed through wall panel to primary building structure.

These figures are based on various combinations of ASF wall studs, drywall boards, insulation and external cladding.
