Conservation Slimline Set Back Casement Window 100 - Set Back Casement Timber Windows

A perfect authentic match for late Victorian (1890-1901), Edwardian (1901-1910) and 1920s Edwardian Design period buildings, also a perfect energy-efficient replacement for the original Crittall Windows.

Unlike the industry-standard flush casements, where the frame is inline with the casements, the set back casements are recessed behind the frame by 10 mm thus achieving a distinctive 'stepped back' look. Perfectly finished flush casement windows can often appear somewhat artificial.

The set back casement range safeguards the all-important period look and feel of a period building or traditional new build.

• Timber - Preservative treated knot-free, crack-free, premium grade engineered timber with opposing grain, vertical and horizontal finger-joints and density of 630 kg/m3 with hardwood sills. Moisture content 12% +-3%
• Paint finish - Teknos Micro-porous, water-based factory sprayed paint finish consisting of Knot Inhibiting Primer (Teknos Antistain Aqua 5200), intermediate Primer (Teknos Teknol Aqua 1410) and finishing coats. Primer 400 microns, finishing coats 150 microns (DFT). Standard Colour RAL9010, any RAL colour available. Colour matching service (optional cost) to Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Paper Paint Library palettes.
• Glass and glazing - Internally glazed (for enhanced security) with silicone (no glazing tapes) with energy saving Planitherm One double glazed 20 mm float glass (4-12ar-4) units as standard (1.0 W/m2K). 24 mm, 28 mm, laminated, toughened, acoustic etc. glass options available to suit individual project requirements.

• Spacer bars - High thermal performance warm edge spacers 12 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm. Available as White (similar to RAL9016), Light Grey (similar to RAL7035), Dark Grey (similar to RAL7040), Light Brown (similar to RAL8003), Dark Brown (similar to RAL8003), Black (similar to RAL9005).
• Ironmongery - High quality locking handles and stays in an array of styles, designs and finishes operating a secure multi-point locking system. Standard Finishes: Polished Chrome, Satin Chrome, Polished Brass, Black and Pewter. Designer finishes available at additional cost.
• Distinctive hinge system - Technically advanced Unclip Hinge system safeguards the traditional look and character of any period building. Unlike scissor-like friction hinges, which sometimes can be unsightly, casements with Unclip hinge system do not encroach into the window opening, ensuring a full, unobstructed view. Innovative system allows for the opening and even non-opening casements to be removed from their frames for trouble-free, speedy fitting and maintenance in the future.
• Silicone - External grade high performance Lakma single component silicone, flexible sealing agent using acetate curing. Creates highly flexible and elastic sealing joints, with full resistance to water, oils, acids and alkali. Features excellent adhesion to glass. The seal is durable, completely weatherproof, and UV-radiation resistant. Available as white (standard), colourless, grey, brown and black.
• Trickle vents - Titon R16 - 4530 mm2 as standard. Available as White (standard), Cream, Brown and Grey.
• Hidden trickle vents - Trickle vents are externally concealed to protect the sensitive character of a period building. Especially important for newbuild homes, period renovations, extensions and replacement windows where the unsightly external head-drips and trickle vent canopies can negatively impact the look and feel of a period home or extension.

• Glazing Bars and Leaded Lights - Refined extended lamb's tongue slimline 18 mm (internal) and specialist "putty" design with decorative edge (external) as standard. Also available in 23 mm, 27 mm, 35 mm, ovolo, square profiles. Overlap and Authentic Soldered Leaded Lights available in 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm. Flat, rounded or antique options.
