Application

For use with MetalPad for decking.

Designed for Class A balconies, terraces and flat roofs, and complies fully with BS 8579.

Description

MetalPad adjustable pedestal for decking with aluminium rail joist system to create substructure frame for Class A decking.

Profiled rail joist clicks between four lugs on headpiece of MetalPad to give secure fitting without need for mechanical fixings. Class A deck boards (by others) are fixed to the rail/ joist.

Fire rated Class A1 to EN 13501-1.

Complies to BS 8579.

Features and benefits:

  • Includes aluminium box detailed rail, 20 mm, 25 mm or 50 mm high - 60 mm wide.
  • Rail length 2 m, 2.5 m as standard, up to 5 m lengths available.
  • Fully integrated, mechanical fixing free substructure.
  • Part of Class A non-combustible system.
  • Greatly enhances lateral stability.
  • Allows pedestals to be placed at larger centres whilst maintaining weight tolerance.
  • Low height threshold for decking; 45 mm from the floor to the underside of the deck board.
  • Substructure height up to 350 mm maximum.
  • Very high weight tolerance: 1,000 kg, with a break point of over 2,000 kg.
  • Class A based on EC Commission 96-603.
  • Class A based on BS EN 13501-1: 2018 Fire Classification of Construction.
  • BS 8579: 2020 Guide to the Design of Balconies and Terraces.
  • Approved Document B fire safety volume1-2019.
