Application

H+H UK Ltd can offer a fast-build masonry alternative to both Timber Frame and aggregate. Designated as an MMC under the Mark Farmer Review, Vertical Wall Panels are erected onsite and can build a house shell from DPC to Roof in just five days.

Celcon Vertical Wall Panels are intended for the construction of domestic houses of up to two storey with room in the roof. Three storeys may also be considered subject to an engineering appraisal.

Description

Celcon Vertical Wall Panels are storey-high aircrete panels - fabricated offsite and craned into place for a fast, panelised building system with the reassuring characteristics of a high-performance, durable, masonry structure.

Celcon Vertical Wall Panels are manufactured in a range of heights with a width of 600 mm and a thickness of 100 mm.

Vertical Wall Panels are craned into place onto a bed of H+H element mortar – a fast-setting and very strong thin-layer mortar developed especially for use with the panels.

Features and benefits:

  • MMC category 2, 3 & 6 compliant
  • Fast build on site from DPC to roof in 5 days
  • Achieves latest Part E and Part L regulations

Manufacturer guidance

  1. The diameter of holes drilled in the blocks should be such that the plug fits tightly prior to the screw being driven. Woodscrews driven direct should not be over tightened. Cut nails driven direct should not be over hammered.
  2. The size and length of a fixing should be suitable for the block thickness.
  3. Generally, fixings should be spaced from each other (and from the free edge of a block when this is applicable) at a distance not less than the depth of penetration of the fixings into the block; this should be confirmed with the fixing manufacturer.
  4. Where a comparison is needed between the performance of a fixing listed and a known requirement, we suggest a Safety Factor of 4 be applied.
