Timber frame cavity wall lintel
Timber frame lintels are designed specifically to support the loads of masonry cladding over a proposed opening in a timber frame wall, while other loads are supported by the timber frame superstructure.
Suitable for use in timber frame cavity walls. All timber frame lintels must be secured with restraint clips (supplied) and a batten (not supplied) to prevent lateral deflection (twist) during the building stage.
Timber framed external walls are popular for their lightweight, airtight, and thermally efficient properties. They offer a balance of weight, practicality, and performance.
Designed specifically for build-ups where the cavity and outer leaf are separated, these timber lintels can be securely attached to the frame with restraint clips and timber battens. Sloping down towards the outer leaf masonry, they provide a good level of structural protection and direct moisture away from the building interior.
Catnic’s timber frame lintel range, shown below, is available for common cavity wall sizes and is built in DPC with duplex corrosion protection.
