Description

Bolidtop 525 Deco is a 2.4 mm thick seamless floor finishing system based on low-viscous, two component synthetic resins with little odour. The appearance looks flat and rigid and is scratch-resistant. The viscous elastic properties of this floor gives it a comfortable finish. Contact noise is greatly absorbed by the product. Added Decoflakes give an extra aesthetic dimension and increase wet and dry antislip. It fulfils a decorative function if a choice is made from the wide range of colours and flakes, resulting in a terrazzo style finish.

System performance	- Manufacturer guidance Hardwearing yet decorative resin flooring system, installed seamlessly to provide a hygienic and joint-free floor, with the addition of decorative flakes.
Substrate	-
Testing	- Manufacturer guidance Moisture compression and surface regularity tests to be carried out by Stratum approved installer. Concrete/screed substrates - Must be installed to SR1 - no more than 3 mm gap anywhere under a 2 m straight edge, anywhere on the floor. - Compressive Strength - must achieve minimum 25+ on Revound Hammer. - Moisture Content - must be less than 2.5% Moisture Content to enable resin to be installed. Test by Calcium Carbide method for accurate reading. Cement Board substrates - Boards must be fully glued together with manufacturers adhesive along joints. All joints must be Tongue & Grooved - no butted joints are acceptable. - Boards must be kept dry during and after install. - Excess glue to be scraped off following curing. Raised Access Flooring - access locations must be agreed. Resin flooring can be installed directly over Calcium Sulphate glued panels. Alternatively, 18 mm screed boards can be installed over raised access floor (glued on all joints), and resin applied over.
Preparation	- Manufacturer guidance Surface to be prepared by mechanical grinding, under full extraction to remove surface laitance and contamination. And cracks present within the substrate will need to be repaired prior to continuation with Epoxy products. Surface to be clear of any debris and dust prior to priming by suitable vacuum/extractor.
Levelling screed	Bonded cementitious levelling screed system. Manufacturer guidance If a surface regularity of SR1 is not presented, then a levelling screed may be required. Care should be taken to select a product that is compatible with Resin and (if present) Underfloor heating. Important note: crack repairs must still be completed prior to levelling over, as neglecting to would likely lead to reflective cracking.
Primer	Bolidt Universal Primer. Guidance for specification option: Bolidtop universal primer consists of two components, based on low-viscous, solvent-free epoxy resins, which have to be mixed into a perfectly homogeneous mass shortly before use. Manufacturer guidance Universal Primer to be installed at a minimum consumption rate of 0.2 kg/m². Consumption will vary depending on porosity of substrate.
Resin flooring	Bolidtop 525 + Flakes. Guidance for specification option: Bolidtop 525 Compound is a synthetic material, consisting of two components, based on branched polyols and polyisocyanates, which have to be mixed into a perfectly homogeneous mass. Bolicoat Pn consists of two liquid components and is based on waterborne polyurethane emulsions. If mixed correctly, the two components will form a product with good mechanical and chemical properties. Bolicoat Pn. Manufacturer guidance Bolidtop 525 Compound is installed at a rate of 3 kg/m². Bolicoat Pn is installed at a rate of 0.11 kg/m². Approximate system thickness is 3 mm.
Surface treatment	Bolidt coating 54720 (textureless anti-slip). Low slip potential (PTV 36+) in accordance with BS 7976-2 in both wet and dry conditions. Guidance for specification option: Bolidt coating 54720 consists of two liquid components and is based on a waterborne polyurethane emulsion. When two components are mixed correctly, a product with a hard-elastic character. Manufacturer guidance Used instead of Bolicoat Pn.
Movement joints	-
Type	Duraflex Stainless Steel movement joints. Manufacturer guidance Duraflex Stainless Steel movement joints or similar approved.
Resin skirtings and upstands	Skirtings and upstands to match colour of the flooring system. Manufacturer guidance Standard skirting detail, formed using pre-fabricated slender skirting profile, overlaid with resin finishing coats to provide a seamless watertight detail. 10 mm radius and up to 150 mm in height.
System accessories	Trims by Dural. Guidance for specification option: Trims by Dural or similar approved.
Execution	- Manufacturer guidance Bolidt resin floors must be installed by trained applicators from Stratum Resin Flooring Limited.
System completion	- Manufacturer guidance Once completed, the floor can be protected with breathable + rigid protection after 48 hours. Full chemical cure takes 1 week, although light traffic can resume once protected.

Recyclability	- Manufacturer guidance The product (Bolidtop 525 Deco) can be taken back at the end of it's life by grinding or peeling. More than 50% of the product can be dismantled and components recycled, and partially renewed for reuse. If the floor requires repair or maintenance, this will be carried out on site. The product has a proven long service life, and will/can remain anchored to the substrate, until the building is demolished, and then recycled.
