Contact Bauder to confirm substrate suitability if required.

Detailing:

The waterproofing should be turned up by at least 150 mm around features such as rooflights, parapets and service pipes passing through the roof. Detail work to upstands, edge details, flashings, etc. should be carried out using either Thermofol D membrane adhered directly to the substrate, using Bauder Thermofol Contact Adhesive, or mechanically fastened, using Thermofol U membrane. Detailing should be carried out with a separate flashing. Consult Bauder for further information on detailing.

Waterproof membrane:

- Thermofol U15 FB Membrane:

A fleece-backed, polyester-reinforced polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane, designed for both adhesive and mechanical fastening.

Both mechanically fastened and adhered systems are usually installed using hot air welding techniques at the seams, where the sheets are fused together by heat, creating a totally secure, homogenous layer.

The surface resists UV damage, and is highly solar reflective in light grey colour. It has a high tensile strength, and is reinforced with a pre-coated polyester cross-weave to make it resistant to tears and punctures, ensuring durability. A wide range of fasteners is available for mechanical attachment of the membrane to metal, timber, concrete and many other decking materials.

Accessories:

- Bauder Thermofol D18 PVC Detailing Membrane:

  • This unreinforced detailing membrane is manufactured from Polyvinyl Chloride membrane (PVC). The product is highly flexible due to the incorporation of internal plasticizers during the manufacturing process. This combination of materials provides high elongation, good thermal stability and flexibility. Complex three-dimensional detailing to curves, pipes or awkward shapes can be formed using Thermofol un-reinforced D18 membrane. Otherwise Thermofol pre-formed corners must be used at intersections and returns.
  • Available in all three membrane colours. Light Grey (RAL 7035), Blue Grey (RAL 7031), Anthracite (RAL 7016).
  • Membrane to be either fully bonded using Bauder Thermofol Contact Adhesive - Drum or mechanically fixed according to the construction - refer to the Bauder Single Ply Installation Manual for further guidance.

- Bauder Thermofol Pre-formed Corners:

  • Pre-formed PVC internal and external corners for use with Thermofol membrane.
  • These products are designed to dress into 90° corners; they can be warmed and manipulated to fit corners over and under 90°. If this is not possible, a gusset must be dressed at an internal corner, and a piece of D18 unreinforced detailing membrane can be used at an external corner with a ‘thumb print’.
  • Internal (90 x 90 mm) and External (150 x 170 mm) pre-formed corners can be reversed to allow them to be used at other junction points, to ensure that a watertight seal is easy to achieve.
  • Pre-formed corners must be fully heat-welded from the centre outwards, working around each side until the entire patch is welded.
  • Available in all three membrane colours: light grey (RAL 7035), blue grey (RAL 7031), anthracite (RAL 7016).

- Bauder Thermofol Laminated Metal:

  • 1.4 mm thick. A 0.6 mm-thick, hot-dip galvanized steel plate, laminated on one side with a 0.8 mm-thick layer of Thermofol PVC, for use in creating flashings and detailing.
  • Available in all three membrane colours: light grey (RAL 7035), blue grey (RAL 7031), anthracite (RAL 7016).
  • Bauder Thermofol Coated Metal (1 x 2 m) is supplied in pallet quantities in flat sheet form.

- Bauder Thermofol Pre-fabricated Laminated Metal:

  • 1.4 mm thick. A 0.6 mm thick, hot dip galvanized steel plate, laminated on one side with 0.8 mm thick layer of Thermofol PVC, for use in creating flashings and detailing.
  • Available in all three membrane colours: light grey (RAL 7035), blue grey (RAL 7031), anthracite (RAL 7016).
  • Each flashing type is supplied in a standard 2 m length.

- Bauder Thermofol Profiles:

  • Bauder Thermofol PVC decorative profile to be heat-welded to Thermofol PVC membrane, to create a ‘Standing Seam’ effect for roofs.
  • Bauder Thermofol Profiles are supplied in 3 m lengths (W 35 x H 27 mm).
  • Available in all three membrane colours: light grey (RAL 7035), blue grey (RAL 7031), anthracite (RAL 7016).

- Bauder single ply lightning conductors:

  • A specialist lightning conductor clip riveted to a Bauder membrane base. These clips are available to suit coated 25 x 3 mm conductor tape. The membrane base is Thermofol PVC. The base allows the product to be fully welded to the waterproofing, whilst the clip allows movement of the tape caused by expansion/ contraction.
  • Bauder Lightning conductor - Type 4: PVC coated.

- Bauder Thermofol Rigid PVC rainwater outlets:

  • A rigid PVC rainwater outlet, enabling the Thermofol membrane to be welded to the flange plate. UV-stable throughout. The unbacked Thermofol membrane should be heat-welded up to the aperture to ensure colour consistency on the roof.
  • Rigid PVC base plate in light grey: 300 mm (70 DN), 385 mm (100 DN and 150 DN).

- Bauder Thermofol Embossed Walkway Membrane:

Bauder Thermofol Embossed Walkway is a 2 mm-thick, reinforced PVC membrane with dark grey embossed finish, to be loose-laid over the finished membrane surface. The membrane should be heat-welded around its full perimeter to the surface of the finished waterproofing.

- BauderSOLAR Photovoltaic Mounting System:

Bauder Flat roof PV mounting solution for framed solar modules. The mounting units are secured to the roof using a membrane-to-membrane welding technique. This installation method means that the roof is not compromised by penetrations for fixings, nor is it ballasted, which would add additional weight loading to the roof. Specifically designed to be installed on Bauder bituminous or single-ply waterproofing systems and provide a lightweight, low-risk and quick-to-install mounting solution for framed solar modules.

For adhered and mechanically fastened Thermofol systems, (only suitable for use with U15 FB, U18 and U20).

- Bauder LiquiFIBRE Detailing Kit:

Fast-curing waterproofing resin, containing fibre reinforcement that can be used for detailing awkward shapes or inaccessible areas where using LiquiDETAIL is impractical. PMMA-based resin that requires a catalyst and is solvent, isocyanate and halogen-free.

- Bauder LiquiDETAIL:

Cold liquid-applied, fast-curing waterproofing resin that can be used on upstands and details. PMMA-based resin that requires the addition of a catalyst to trigger curing and is solvent, isocyanate and halogen-free.
