Elegant roller shutter with open look and feel. A steel security grille with an open look and feel. Shell pattern or circle roller shutter for interior or exterior openings.
Recommended for multiple applications where a more open style shutter is required or where the shutter needs to be seen through.
Armourshield security roller grilles are typically used on shop fronts, bars and serveries. These elegant but strong security grilles let through full natural light and air.
Behind glass, Armourshield security grilles provide a double barrier, allowing full visibility of goods on display.
On bars, serveries and reception counters, these grilles are an attractive and secure barrier with maximum visibility and airflow.
Armourshield is a tough security grille with an elegant, open look and feel to it. HVP's Armourshield grilles are suitable for bars, reception counters and shop-fronts.
The tough, steel rods on the Armourshield make it a very secure shutter. At the same time, the open construction of Armourshield roller grilles allows goods to be displayed very well.
The high security and maximum open space make this grille particularly suitable for shop fronts. Ideally, it’s placed behind glazing, where it forms a double barrier with the glass. The Amourshield is available in two patterns: ‘shell’ and ‘ring’. It has two aperture sizes: one larger for larger openings and a smaller aperture suited to smaller openings. They create an aesthetic and securely locked barrier with maximum visibility.

Recyclability | Manufacturer guidanceRecycling Roller Shutters: Responsible Disposal and Sustainable Choices Why Recycling Roller Shutters Matters Roller shutters are built to last, offering robust protection for homes, businesses, and industrial spaces. However, like any mechanical product, they eventually reach the end of their service life—whether due to wear, damage, or upgrades. When that time comes, responsible disposal and recycling are crucial for both environmental and regulatory reasons. The Environmental Impact of Shutter Disposal Most roller shutters are made from metals such as aluminium or steel, along with smaller components made from plastics, rubber, and electronic parts (in motorised systems). Simply sending old shutters to landfill wastes valuable resources and contributes to environmental harm. Recycling, on the other hand, ensures that these materials are recovered and reused, reducing the demand for new raw materials and the energy required for manufacturing. What Parts of a Roller Shutter Can Be Recycled? Aluminium and Steel Laths: These metals are highly recyclable and can be melted down and repurposed for new products. Guide Rails and Boxes: Usually made from aluminium or steel, these can be separated and recycled with the main curtain. Motors and Electrical Components: Electric shutters contain motors, control panels, and wiring. These should be removed and sent to specialist electronic waste recyclers. Plastic End Caps and Seals: While not always accepted in household recycling, some specialist centres can process these materials. Rubber Seals and Gaskets: These are less commonly recycled but can sometimes be included with mixed industrial waste for specialist processing. How to Recycle Roller Shutters Professional Removal: Always use a qualified engineer to dismantle old shutters safely, especially if they are motorised or spring-loaded. Material Segregation: Separate metals, plastics, and electronics. This step is crucial for effective recycling and may be required by local recycling centres. Local Recycling Centres: Take separated materials to a licensed recycling facility. Most metals are accepted at scrap yards, and many local authorities offer electronic waste recycling. Manufacturer Take-Back Schemes: Some manufacturers and installers, including HVP Security Shutters, may offer removal and recycling services as part of their upgrade or replacement packages. Regulatory and Compliance Considerations UK waste regulations require businesses to dispose of commercial waste responsibly. This includes: Using licensed waste carriers for transport and disposal Keeping records (waste transfer notes) for all commercial waste Ensuring hazardous components, such as batteries or electronics, are handled by authorised facilities Failure to comply can result in fines or legal action, so always check your responsibilities when disposing of old shutters. Sustainable Choices for the Future When selecting new roller shutters, consider the environmental impact of your purchase: Opt for Recyclable Materials: Aluminium and steel shutters are both durable and easy to recycle at end-of-life. Choose Quality Products: Well-made shutters last longer and require fewer replacements, reducing overall waste. Ask About Recycling: When arranging a shutter upgrade or replacement, request a recycling and disposal service from your supplier. How HVP Security Shutters Can Help At HVP Security Shutters, we are committed to responsible business practices and sustainability.
