Application

  • 1100 Series: Roof applications and for use underneath metal cover plate systems (floor to floor, wall to wall, floor to corner and wall to corner conditions).
  • 1200 and 1250 Series: For wall to wall and wall to corner conditions.

Description

Foam seals, which create a watertight, UV resistant, insulated seal. For use with expansion joint systems, which help to protect buildings from natural shifting and movement. Can be used in joint widths between 50–200 mm.

1100 Series:

The 1100 series foam seal provides a 100% watertight seal. This system is suitable for roof applications and installation under metal cover plates. Its ridged sides trap and pool epoxy, providing good adhesion to the joint surface and a water tight seal.

  • Can withstand high heat.
  • 100% watertight.
  • Allows for 50% tension, 50% compression, and 100% shear movement.
  • Manufactured from a nitrogen blown polyethylene material, which is more environmentally friendly than ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam seals.
  • Available with an optional coating: the seal can be painted to match any wall colour using Sherwin-Williams® or Pantone® colour – consult manufacturer for details.

1200 Series:

The 1200 foam seal for vertical expansion joints is UV stable and highly resistant to ozone and chemical degradation. This open cell foam is constantly self-expanding, allowing system to maintain a watertight seal during rapid joint movement.

  • Capable of handling vertical and horizontal joint movement.
  • Pre-compressed, and equipped with peel and stick adhesive sides, making installation easy.
  • Installed with epoxy for joint widths 6 inches wide and greater.
  • Allows for up to 100% movement (±50%).

1250 Series:

The 1250 closed cell foam seal for vertical expansion joints is UV stable and highly resistant to ozone and chemical degradation.

  • Capable of handling vertical and horizontal joint movement.
  • Design makes installation easier and allows for better adhesion to the joint surface.
  • Composed of a durable, closed cell foam structure which has high compression, tension and shear stress.
  • Installed utilising colour-matching silicone.
  • Allows for up to 50% movement (±25%).

  • 1200 and 1250 Series: For wall to wall and wall to corner conditions.

  • Tear strength (suffix G): 17.5 pli (±3 pli).
  • Compression set (suffix B, after 22 hours, at 50%): 14% (at 24 hour recovery); 20% (at 2 hour recovery).
  • Water absorption (suffix L): <0.03 lb/ft².

- 1200 Series:

  • Nominal density: 10 pcf (160 kg/m³).
  • Thermal conductivity: 0.05 W/m·K.
  • Temperature stability: -40°C to 85°C.
  • Elongation at break (to ASTM 3574): 125% (±20%).
  • Tensile strength (to ASTM 3574): 21 psi (minimum).
  • Shear strength: 8 N/cm³ (minimum).
  • Compression set: 2.5% (maximum).

- 1250 Series:

  • Nominal density: 10 pcf (160 kg/m³).
  • Thermal conductivity (to ASTM C177): R-4.
  • Elongation at break (to ASTM D3575): 250%.
  • Tensile strength (to ASTM D3575): 120 psi.
  • Tear resistance (to ASTM D624): 21.5 lb/inch.
  • Compression set (suffix B, after 22 hours at 50%): 14% (at 24 hour recovery); 20% (at 2 hour recovery).
  • Water absorption (to ASTM D3575): <.02 lb/ft².
