FR Acrylic - Technical Data Sheet

Designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through joints and openings in fire rated walls and floors (including openings formed around building service penetrations); Protecta® FR Acrylic will also maintain acoustic design performance. When subjected to atmospheric conditions, the sealant cures however, it will retain a degree of elasticity for joint movement. Under fire exposure, Protecta® FR Acrylic creates a robust fire seal by the formation of a durable intumescent char. Protecta® FR Acrylic can be used with a suitable filling material i.e. stone wool or Protecta® backing material in order to secure correct width to depth ratio, and to reduce the shrinking of the sealant during curing.

FR ASF - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR ASF is designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and gases through openings in fire rated walls and floors, specifically linear joints and openings for building service penetrations. Protecta® FR ASF should be applied over suitable backing materials to ensure correct width to depth ratio and to reduce shrinkage of the joint during hardening. In areas with a high degree of humidity and/or in joints with excessive movement, use Protecta® FR IPT. Protecta® FR ASF is a 2 hour rated intumescent sealant formulated with fillers that provide noise reduction. Protecta® FR ASF cures when it is subjected to atmospheric conditions, however it will retain a small degree of elasticity for joint movement.

FR Board - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Board is designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through openings in fire rated walls and floors where openings are formed to allow the installation of multiple building services. Protecta® FR Board will also maintain the acoustic design performance in fire rated walls and floors. Protecta® FR Board consists of a high density stone wool core, over-coated with Protecta® FR Coating. The top coating provides additional protection by significantly reducing the permeability of the stone wool core and prevents the passage of hot gases, thus reducing the temperature rise on the unexposed side and reducing heat conduction through the building services.

FR Coating - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Coating spray grade, is an ablative sealant coating designed to enhance, seal and fire protect mineral fibres. It is based on a durable polymer system with inert fillers, non-halogenated fire retardants and a preservative to resist microbial attack. Protecta® FR Coating is designed to be applied via spraying directly onto mineral fibres. The coating dries to give a sound, flexible white surface finish. During installation of mineral fibres, the cured sealant coating reduces de-lamination and increases surface stability for adhesive and fixing sealant application.

FR Collar - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Collars are designed to maintain the fire resistance of fire rated walls and floors where these are breached by service penetrations, and may be used in drywalls, masonry or concrete walls and floors. Each collar consists of a white coated circular steel shell that splits in two to fit around the service penetrations by means of a simple slidelock system. The steel shell contains a graphite based reactive material which reacts when exposed to heat from fire closing the openings left by the softening combustible material.

FR Damper - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Damper is used to fire proof ventilation ducts where they penetrate fire rated constructions such as fire compartments and fire walls, preventing the passage of fire and smoke both surrounding and inside the ventilation duct. The product consist of a steel casing containing horizontal steel blades treated with a technically advanced heat expanding graphite which closes off the whole damper in a fire. The aperture surrounding the dampers are fire sealed with Protecta FR Board in walls and Protecta® EX Mortar in floors. The damper can be installed in the fire seal and the ventilation ducting attached or the damper can be connected to the ducting and then fire sealed.

FR EX Mortar - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® EX Mortar is a dry white powder consisting of inorganic compounds and perlite. When mixed with water, the compounds form a highly thermally insulating fire sealing compound to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through openings in fire rated walls and floors, including openings formed around building service penetrations. Protecta® EX Mortar will also maintain the acoustic design performance in walls and floors. Protecta® EX Mortar expands approx. 1% by hydraulic action during curing ensuring a very tight seal around the service penetrations and the surrounding opening apertures. Protecta® EX Mortar is easy to sand or drill. The compound dries to an off-white colour which may be painted.

FR Foam - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Foam is designed to maintain the fire resistance in walls by filling linear gaps in drywalls, concrete or masonry walls. Supplied as a single component polyurethane foam, Protecta® FR Foam cures by moisture absorption. Boasting excellent adhesion to most materials used in construction with high durability during service once cured. FR Foam also has excellent thermal properties (0.0354 W/mK) and sound insulation.

Protecta® FR Graphite is a high specification formulation designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and gases through openings in fire rated walls and floors. FR Graphite Plate - Technical Data Sheet

Protecta® FR Graphite Plate is a preformed self-adhesive intumescent plate, used to reinstate the re resistance performance of exible wall constructions when punctured with plastic wall boxes. It is used where the walls have been provided with apertures for the penetration of conduits and cables into socket boxes, on one or both sides of the wall. The graphite plate immediately reacts to re through the heat and automatically expands and lls up the box, preventing re from passing through.

Protecta FR Board - EC Certificate

A board used to seal around cables and metallic pipes to form a penetration seal to reinstate the fire resistance performance of wall and floor constructions, where they have been provided with apertures for the penetration of services. Protecta FR Board is supplied coated on one face, referenced 1-S, or on both faces, referenced 2-S. The board or boards are then cut to allow the penetration of the required services, before being inserted into the aperture in the wall or floor.

Protecta FR Coating - EC Certificate

Protecta FR Coating is a sprayed coating product that is site applied to one or both faces of a stone wool, mineral fibre board, to form a penetration seal system referenced Protect FR Board or a linear joint seal system. The intended use of Protecta FR Coating is to reinstate the fire resistance performance of wall and floor constructions where they have been provided with apertures for the penetration of single or multiple services or where joints between walls and floors occur.

Protecta FR Collar - EC Certificate

A pipe closure device used to form penetration seals where combustible pipes, cables and metal pipes with insulation penetrate walls and floors. Protecta FR Collar is supplied with intumescent liner complete within metal steel shell, to be clamped around the service and screw fixed back to the supporting element. The Protecta FR Collar may be supplied with powder coated steel or stainless steel shells.

Protecta FR Damper - UL-EU Certificate

This certificate relates to the use of Protecta Firedamper for preventing fire and smoke spreading from one fire compartment to another through the air ductwork system which may penetrate fire separating walls and floors. The Protecta Firedamper breifly comprises a circular or rectangular galvanised steel shell, containing a number of perforated steel fins and closed on both faces with a steel mesh grille. The interior of the shell and both sides of the fins are lined with an intumescent sheet material.

Protecta FR Foam is supplied contained, premixed within steel canisters. Protecta FR Putty Pad - EC Certificate

A flexible pad used to reinstate the fire resistance performance of wall and floor constructions where they have been provided with apertures for the penetration of insulated or uninsulated metallic pipes, cables, and pipes or cables into socket boxes, on both sides of the wall. The Protecta FR Putty is supplied precut to size with a peel off strip to both faces to prevent it from bonding materials other than for the desired application. The Protecta FR Putty is installed by removing the peelable strips and wrapping the pad around the socket box where it penetrates the face of the wall and covering the back face of the box (at the end of the pipe).

Protecta FR Service Transit - Technical Data Sheet

The Protecta® Service Transit has been designed to maintain the fire resistance of walls and floors when these are breached by continuous cables and plastic pipes. The Service Transit consists of a circular high temperature plastic tube containing a graphite based intumescent lining material which expands upon heating to seal spaces or voids around cables and pipes, thus preventing the passage of flames, smoke and gases. After installation of the Service Transit, cables and pipes can be retrofitted without having to install a new fire seal. The Service Transit is available in three different lengths, 150mm, 250mm and 400mm and the selection of which to use depends on the thickness of the supporting construction and the required fire classification.

Protecta Interior Paint FR-1 - EC Certificate

The Protecta Interior Paint FR-1 Wall System comprises a stud and perimeter framework of 38 x 63 mm C16 European Redwood (EN 1912: 2004), faced on both sides with 1 layer of precoated, 12 mm Class E1 particleboard (EN 312: 2010) with a density of 650 kg/m3 min. The studs are positioned at 600 mm centres, with noggins at a height of 2400 mm. The boards are fixed to the studs, permiter frame and noggins 15 mm from the board edges and at 200 mm centres. The particleboard faces of the partition are precoated on the outward facing side with 220 microns (WFT)/ 305g/m2 dry weight of Protecta Interior Paint FR-1, applied by roller. The edges of the partition are sealed with a 5 mm bead of Protect FR Acrylic sealant.
