Arawak Walton Housing Association, Manchester - Social housing Optima Casement

Profile 22 has supplied its Optima Casement solution to 62 social housing properties in Rusholme, Manchester for Arawak Walton Housing Association. Merseyside based Total Glass, a longstanding member of the Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor scheme, supplied 434 Profile 22 Optima Casement PVC-U windows during refurbishment works on the homes. The Windows were installed by Lancashire based Countrywide UPVC. Hornby Flats social housing refurbishment

Part of an energy efficiency drive, the landlord aimed to reduce carbon emissions and the effects of fuel poverty on 96 units in 8 blocks at Hornby Flats, Liverpool. Keele University - reviving a landmark building with our flush tilt and turn windows

Profile 22 has supplied its state-of-the-art Flush Tilt and Turn solution to help transform a vacant building in Staffordshire into luxury student accommodation. Keele House, a former Tax Office, had stood empty for many years. Given its close proximity to Keele University, the building is ideally located for student accommodation. Leighton Hospital, Crewe using Profile 22

Leighton Hospital, is being updated with 104 new windows from our Profile 22 range. The new windows are being installed as part of a wider regeneration project at the hospital worth over £500,000. "The client is extremely happy with how the works have gone, not only with the way they have been carried out, taking into consideration their complex requirements. “The new windows not only provide better functionality, but will also greatly enhance the thermal performance of the building, saving the client money on its heating bills, as well as providing improved aesthetics for many years to come.”

Optima Casement Windows were a central part of a £1.3 million renovation project at Woldgate School and Sixth Form College in Pocklington near York

Woldgate School secured £1.3 million for improvements to its buildings from the Department for Education. The funds were to cover work including the removal and replacement of external walls not of brick construction, as well as windows and doors, many of which were the originals from when the school was first built. Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor Kingfisher Windows was appointed principal contractor for the works. Optima helps housing association deliver community regeneration project

Optima windows were chosen for the construction of 18 houses, 38 flats and two retail units as part of a regeneration scheme in Maidstone, Kent. Housing association Golding Homes has invested £50m in a three phase regeneration project to transform and improve the former Park Wood estate in Maidstone. The scheme involved providing over 200 new homes, mainly family houses, as well as new community facilities including new shops, and a much wider package of investment to improve the local area.

Optima windows and French doors from Profile 22 selected for affordable housing

A development of 82 new build houses to the north of Glasgow benefit from Optima casement windows and French doors from Profile 22. Keepmoat positions itself as a value builder but is committed to smart design and attention to detail. The contract for the windows and French doors on the homes was awarded to Glasgow-based Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor Gold Seal Windows. The company is a highly experienced commercial contractor so had the expertise that was needed on a project that required a total of 900 casement window and French door units in Anthracite Grey.

Over 300 Profile 22 Optima windows were installed in a private housing development in Chipping near Preston in Lancashire.

The developer of the new build flats was Jensco Holdings Ltd and the main contractor was Clegg Construction. The design, manufacture and installation of the windows on the project was undertaken by Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor Kingfisher Windows. Profile 22 Optima Chamfered Windows help transform 1960s building into stylish modern housing

Over 1,000 Profile 22 Optima Chamfered Windows have been used in a conversion project in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. Sim Chem House in Cheadle Hulme was a six storey office block built in the 1960s. The building had been empty for many years and fallen into disrepair. It was purchased by developers Inspired Homes to be redeveloped into 184 studio, one and two bed ultra-high quality apartments aimed at young homeowners.

Profile 22 Optima Chamfered Windows used in a social housing development in Telford

Nuplace are a quality lettings company, owned by Telford & Wrekin Council. It secured planning permission to build 39 new homes on a site in Telford. The window specification was for a White chamfered profile that could achieve an overall U value of 1.4 W/m2K. SBD accreditation was a requirement AND PAS24. The site’s location near a busy road meant acoustic glazing was required on some elevations. Trickle vents were required on some windows, including those with acoustic glazing requirements, which meant non-standard acoustic trickle vents were required.

Profile 22 Optima Flush Casement Windows specified for high quality housing development

Over 500 Profile 22 Optima Flush Casement Windows were installed in a private housing development in Whalley Range, Manchester. Housing developer Laurus Homes, a profit-for-purpose housing developer that’s part of Trafford Housing Trust, secured planning permission to build 13 four bedroom houses and 16 two bedroom apartments in Whalley Range near Manchester. The main contractor for the project was Lane End Group, the market leader in the construction and housing sector in the North West. The contract for the windows and doors in the development was awarded to Profile 22 Approved Contractor Kingfisher Windows

Profile 22 Optima Windows used in high quality retirement housing development

Lewis House is a development of 26 one and two bedroom retirement apartments in Upper Norwood in London from McCarthy & Stone. Profile 22 Optima Chamfered Windows deliver specifications required. The window specification required a U-value of 1.4 wm2/k on all windows and Secured by Design accreditation on the ground floor & easily accessible first floor windows. Acoustic glazing was also required because Lewis House is situated on a busy road so traffic noise needed to be minimised. Visually, the local authority had requested a grey exterior to give a modern appearance and provide a close match to aluminum.

Profile 22 products complete Passivhaus refurb

Profile 22 has completed a refurbishment programme for Kirklees Council and its ALMO Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) supplying 150 replacement windows, specified in-line with the principles of Passivhaus. Formerly Richmond Flats, Harold Wilson Court on Leeds Road in Huddersfield is an 11 storey building comprising 43 one-bedroom flats.

Profile 22’s Windows and Doors deliver thermal efficiency to tower block residents

Profile 22’s award winning optima suite of casement and Tilt and Turn Windows along with matching PVCU doors were specified in the refurbishment of two tower blocks in Walsall, West Midlands. The windows are designed to deliver increased insulation and weather protection, which makes them the perfect choice for high-rise, exposed locations. Increasing energy efficiency was one of the key drivers of the refurbishment. They are capable of achieving WER of A++ and U-values of 0.8 W/m2K. Indicative performance measures are 600Pa for air permeability, 600Pa for water tightness and 2400Pa for wind resistance.

Solihull Community Housing

With 37 high-rise buildings within its remit, Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is responsible for the upkeep of more than 1% of the UK’s entire high-rise stock. Part of a stock of 11,000 properties that SCH manages and maintains on behalf of Solihull Council. A window replacement programme on this scale – and on high-rise buildings especially – would normally represent an astronomical undertaking, incurring huge installation costs. However, SCH and its supplier and contractor partners have worked together to devise an innovative solution that allows all new windows to be installed from the inside.

The Gateway Student Accommodation

Nearly 600 PVC-U tilt-turn windows in the Profile 22 system were chosen for The Gateway, a £22million student accommodation in Lincoln. The tilt-turn windows were fabricated by Profile 22’s Approved Window Contractor, Polar Windows, using the fully chamfered system, foiled with smooth finish RAL 7016 Anthracite grey as a special order to colour match the aluminium design scheme. The work was carried out in line with strict deadlines, and the project was completed in good time ready for the beginning of the academic year.

Upgrading social housing in Hulme, Manchester

Profile 22 has supplied its Optima Casement solution to 84 social housing properties in Hulme, Manchester. The three blocks of two and three-storey buildings belong to People First Housing. David Smith, director of A&D Joinery, said: “We’ve been working with Profile 22 since 1991. On this particular project we were fabricating and installing windows from the new Optima range, which we’ve been using since it was launched in 2016. “Profile 22’s specification manager had done an initial window design survey and technical design drawings, which we were able to use during the tendering process.”

Westcliffe Court, Southport vertical sliders apartment building

Profile 22 has supplied 88 bespoke vertical sliding windows to a prominent private apartment building located in Southport, Merseyside. “The planning process to seek the replacement of wooden frames with PVC-U in a conservation area can be a nightmare, but we were happy to work with Westcliffe Court’s residents to find a suitable solution. “Profile 22’s Specification Manager completed all the designs for the windows and attended both residents and planning department meetings, with samples, making a complicated process run smoothly. “All the residents are absolutely delighted with the new windows. They are extremely pleasing aesthetically.
