5 Broadgate Office Estate, London

Max Frank Ltd. supplied Shearail® punching shear reinforcement to the new 12-storey 'groundscraper'. Max Frank worked closely with the Contractor and Structural Engineers. Max Frank's technical design engineer's easily converted a shear link specification with Shearail® to comply with the original design. Numerous independent tests have demonstrated the stud heads form positive end anchorage flush with the top layer of tension reinforcement. Whereas the anchorage of the links is based mainly on bond, the improved end anchorage of the stud controls the shear cracks and enhances the aggregate interlock.

Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2B

Pecafil® has been used extensively worldwide for over 30 years, as a trusted permanent formwork, for the construction of many different foundation types on major projects. The use of Pecafil® on this project avoided the need for heavy traditional formwork and enabled a quick and simple installation process. Frank fibre concrete bar spacers were also used to ensure that the correct cover was maintained. Pecavoid® was specially manufactured by Max Frank for this project, to incorporate a recessed channel, to allow drainage between cells. Max Frank successfully supplied all materials on-time to comply with specific site requirements.

Kings Crescent Estate

Located in Stoke Newington, The Kings Crescent Estate is a large scale regeneration project consisting of 273 new build properties. MAX FRANK’s  BBA certified Egcobox® thermal break connectors, Shearail® punching shear reinforcement and Egcodorn shear dowels were selected for use on this scheme.

Rudding Park Hotel & Spa Development

The works consisted of the construction of a new spa and hotel extension to the Grade 1 listed historic Rudding Park Hotel nestled within an 18th century Repton landscape. The new facility included a 17m swimming pool; hydrotherapy suite; thermal rooms; treatment complex; restaurant and bar; and a feature rooftop garden. A range of Max Frank products were specified as part of the overall waterproofing strategy, including: Fradiflex® metal waterstop, Synko-Flex® non-expanding waterstop, Zemdrain® controlled permeability formwork liner (CPF), Shearail® punching shear reinforcement and Stabox® rebar connection system.

Waste Water Treatment Works

MAX FRANK supplied Stremaform “self-supporting” concrete jointing system, Pecafil permanent formwork, Fradiflex metal waterstop and Synko-Flex non-expanding waterstop to the largest Waste Water Treatment Works in the UK, which drains the entire western side of Manchester (1.2 Million People) at 30,000 litres per second. The scheme, an expansion of existing treatment works, included 6 circular new primary settlement tanks, an activated sludge plant and 10 circular final settlement tanks. As part of offsite manufacturing philosophy, precast concrete was utilised for many structures on this project.
