Innovative products from Johnstone’s Trade’s Ecological Solutions range have played their part in a £400 million shopping centre in the heart of Leeds achieving the coveted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. Johnstone’s Covaplus Vinyl Matt and Acrylic Durable Matt - part of the brand’s Ecological Solutions range - were used by Leeds-based A S Broadley to decorate walkways and all back of house areas. The Ecological Solutions range boasts 14 products that have been awarded the prestigious Ecolabel accreditation; the EU’s premier environmental accreditation for paint that meets the highest environmental and performance standards.

Johnstone’s Trade has put in another crowd-pleasing performance, this time as part of the extensive refurbishment of Wembley Stadium. The stadium’s high-traffic internal spaces, including entrance vestibules and corridors, have been decorated to an exceptionally high standard by Alldec Northern using Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt to provide an attractive, highly durable paint finish. The use of Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt enabled Alldec Northern to successfully deliver the contract within a tight three-month time frame despite the fact that the stadium remained in use throughout

The high performance attributes of Johnstone’s Trade’s products have helped to deliver an unbeatable finish for new state-of-the-art police training facilities. Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt was used to provide the hardwearing finish required in the office areas, while Johnstone’s Acrylic Eggshell was applied in the staff shower areas as it is resistant to condensation.The floor of the impressive ballistics training area was painted with Johnstone’s Two Pack Epoxy Water Based Floor Paint. Johnstone’s Two Pack Anti-Graffiti Finish was applied to the concrete interior walls of the custody cells.

The robust nature of Johnstone’s Endura Super Durable Matt has played a leading role in the refurbishment of a post-natal care wing at a London hospital. Its Endura Super Durable Matt achieves Class 1 of ISO 11998 and Class C of BS7719 at over 10,000 scrubs. Overlooking the Vale of Evesham in an area of outstanding beauty, the brand-new Wood Norton Care Village is more than just a residential home. Featuring 48 village apartments, a 60-bedroom care home and a whole host of amenities – including restaurants, bars, shops and a cinema, as well as a leisure centre, spa and swimming pool – the Wood Norton Care Village encompasses an entire community. The complete interior and exterior decoration at the new facility required a number of premium quality paints from Johnstone's Trade.

Set on a large plot of land in Louth, Yew Tree Cottage was a tired-looking building in desperate need of renovation. Having undergone various changes over the years, the exterior of the property featured a variety of mismatched substrates, both new and old. This, coupled with a recent extension to almost double the size of the building presented a daunting task when it came to turning this traditional property into an inviting and modern home.

Johnstone’s Trade were approached by the Commissioners of Irish Lights to improve the condition of the walls and the railings as the structure indicated that it had not been painted for a number of years. The products that were specified for the project included Johnstone’s Stormshield Pliolite Masonry, a solvent based paint that was applied on the exterior walls of the lighthouse to provide a smooth matt finish in Brilliant White. To complete the makeover, the metal railings of the lighthouse were painted in Johnstone’s Steel & Cladding Semi-gloss Top coat in Signal red.
