Sustainability overview
Harlequin has a corporate and social responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of its customers and end users. Without compromise the welfare of the Harlequin’s clientele which includes high-profile international performers for whom reliable and predictable floor performance is a cardinal safety concern.
As a responsible user, Harlequin Floors ensures that the raw materials selected for use, conform to local and governmental laws in all the countries where the products are sold. In the selection process, as a guiding principle, the information used must be based on robust scientific evidence where consideration is given to the impact the product might have on health, safety and the environment and its contribution to a sustainable environment.
Sprung Floor Environmental Information
Harlequin sprung floors are all manufactured from timber sourced from well managed sustainable forests. The forests are either FSC or PEFC certified. Harlequin have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability by gaining FSC ‘Chain of Custody’ Certification so there is clear traceability of the source of supply, where the timber was harvested. Harlequin does not engage in any illegal logging or trading in illegal timber for their products.
Recycling
During manufacturing, installation, any off cuts or end of life products, Harlequin sprung floors are recycled into Biomass, a clean renewable energy source. The carbon dioxide generated during the burning process is considerably less than burning fossil fuels.
In addition, Harlequin runs a proactive 'Take Back' scheme under which post use products are recycled into second life products.
