Delmatic supplied a site-wide, open-protocol DALI, LON and BACnet system which manages and monitors lighting across the entire 700,000 sq.m project. The system controls, monitors and manages lighting throughout front of house and back of house areas, and integrates seamlessly with the central battery network to monitor the performance of the emergency lighting and central batteries in real time. The lighting management system is the largest DALI installation in the world and combines DALI Buswire, Broadcast and Plug-in technologies with an array of DALI sensors and local control devices.

Powerful, modular DALI-2 Buswire controllers, with between one to five DALI universe capsules dependent on the area they control, provide the ideal solution for the complex nature of the project, while also being economical and energy-efficient.Energy-efficiency is optimised through DALI-2 presence detectors and multisensors which adjust lighting to changing conditions of occupancy and daylight detection, while Delmatic’s custom-configured touchscreens offer local control of scene setting within specialist areas.Battersea Power Station’s four chimneys, world-famous icons on the London skyline, are ringed by DMX colour changing floodlights, configured and coordinated to create dramatic light shows for special occasions and events. DMX lighting extends across the Sky Lounge and roof top gardens with all lighting scenes and scenarios configured through graphical visualisation software across the IP backbone. Delmatic’s advanced Lightscape software delivers unmatched real-time visibility and analysis of site-wide lighting, as well as emergency light testing and battery monitoring across the site, within a comprehensive package.

The 240m headquarters complex is one of the region’s most sophisticated buildings. An advanced Delmatic system with innovative balanced lighting is installed throughout to optimise comfort and efficiency. The system maximises energy efficiency through integrated control of lighting and blinds, presence-detection and daylight-linking which dims lighting to take into account the extent of natural lighting. The system incorporates advanced Balanced Lighting which recognises the fact that high levels of daylight in perimeter areas do not benefit inner areas and so counters the effects of the bright windows by adjusting and boosting lighting levels in inner areas.

Delmatic received Highly Commended recognition for the Best Large Project at the 2020 DALI Lighting Awards for the innovative DALI lighting management system supplied for Crossrail – the UK’s largest ever single public infrastructure development. Delmatic’s DALI systems provide intelligent, secure and energy efficient management and monitoring of normal and emergency lighting throughout Crossrail’s seven key central London stations as well as across the network of shafts, portals and depots. Delmatic were awarded the framework contract with Crossrail Limited based upon a comprehensive prequalification and tender process which reviewed and assessed technical, commercial and project management expertise.

A Delmatic lighting management system manages and monitors lighting throughout the Emirates Towers complex. With a total built area of 260,000 square metres, the mixed-use project comprises a 355m, 100,000 sq.m office tower, adjacent hotel tower, and podium shopping boulevard, car-park and extensive landscaped areas. The networked system provides various degrees of flexibility and control to suit the requirements within distinct areas of the project – totally flexible individual addressable dimming of each luminaire. The open protocol system integrates seamlessly with the site building management system as well as with security and fire systems.

Delmatic systems provide powerful scene-setting control and monitoring within huge destination stations which range from 275,000 sq.m to 460,000 sq.m. The large, flexible stations cover area more than 30 times the size of London’s Trafalgar Square. The systems provide flexible, energy-efficient, addressable management and monitoring of lighting throughout. The systems enhance energy-efficiency through daylight-linked and occupancy-based control. Lighting is configured into a variety of modes activated at scheduled times, via solar controller and photocell sensors. The complete systems are managed and monitored across the IP network using animated graphical software.

A Delmatic connected DALI Zero Power system optimises energy efficiency and controls lighting throughout the campus. The system considers every watt of power to reduce the demands on sustainable energy. Lighting is related to occupation, while lighting levels continually adjust to take account of daylight levels. The connected system shares information with the site BMS so that lighting, heating, ventilation and cooling are linked to occupation. Delmatic’s innovative DALI Zero Power modules further reduce energy consumption by eliminating the standby power of digital lighting saving many kilowatts of unnecessary parasitic load and standby energy consumption.

A landmark development in every sense and one of Europe’s tallest residential towers, South Quay Plaza provides sustainable high-rise living, comprising a series of luxury apartment blocks set to enhance the skyline of London’s Canary Warf.Delmatic’s advanced DALI system graphically manages and monitors lighting, emergency lighting and battery packs, across the sixty-eight storey South Quay Plaza 1 tower and the adjacent fifty-six storey South Quay Plaza 4 tower. The modular DALI system is a completely flexible and scalable solution for seamless extension into fit-out areas, residential amenity spaces and subsequent towers within the estate, to form a complete site-wide DALI system on a shared IP network. The fully-flexible system combines energy-efficient presence detection and daylight linking with aesthetic scene-setting throughout public and residential areas, residential amenity spaces such as the wellness centre and spa, gym, double height pool overlooking the docks, business lounge, co-working spaces, private dining and screening rooms, and the stunning residents lounge on the 56th floor of South Quay Plaza 1 – the highest residential bar in London.Delmatic’s IP DALI Buswire modules – located at hubs distributed throughout the towers – provide individual addressing and monitoring of every light fitting and this total flexibility enables lighting scenes and scenarios to be configured and adjusted to reflect time of day, weather conditions, special events and individual preferences. Lighting in fixed back-of-house areas such as basement routes and spaces are controlled by DALI Broadcast devices which provide the monitoring and efficiency benefits of DALI without the need to individually address each fitting.Delmatic Lightscape graphical software provides advanced networked and remote monitoring and management of the complete site-wide lighting installation with real time intelligence and analytics, including detailed emergency light monitoring and testing, fault detection diagnosis, individual lamp and driver diagnostics, and relamping schedules to ensure the proactive and sustainable replacement of luminaires.Delmatic’s innovative lighting management systems installed at South Quay Plaza received Highly Commended in the Residential category at the 2021 DALI Lighting Awards. The building, affectionately known as The Gherkin, minimises energy consumption by maximising natural ventilation and daylight penetration. Delmatic DALI systems control lighting throughout the building, optimising energy efficiency and providing convenient and flexible control for occupants. To maximise energy-efficiency, multisensors throughout the building relate lighting to occupation of spaces and the level of daylight in each area, reducing lighting levels also reduces cooling loads further enhancing the greenness of the building. The system was procured in two parts and the open-protocol shell-and-core system was seamlessly extended into office areas to create a building-wide integrated system.

The system enhances comfort with advanced digital dimming and scene setting throughout the patient rooms and wards. Delmatic’s DALI Buswire modules simplified installation and control within a medical environment. Medical applications require a minimum of two lighting circuits per room plus emergency lighting which would result in complicated switch wiring using traditional installation. Delmatic’s DALI modules address multiple DALI ballasts irrespective of lighting circuiting so a single module controls DALI luminaires across multiple circuits within a number of rooms: DALI sensors and DALI scene-set controls connect direct to the DALI buswire further simplifying installation and operation.
