Bay Campus, Swansea University

The vision for the new beach-front campus is to provide a modern space for academic facilities, student accommodation, research space and recreational facilities.

Birley Fields Campus, Hulme, Manchester

When Manchester metropolitan university announced plans to consolidate seven of its campuses into two sites, including a £140 million campus in Hulme, its vision was to create 'the most sustainable campus in the UK'. Integral to the project was finding the right partners to deliver an extensive landscaping programme that would link the whole campus together, including a public square at the heart of the development.

Briggate Refurbishment, Leeds

The Charcon commerical landscaping team worked closely with the Leeds City Council technical and design teams to choose suitably cost effective products and to develop their specification – including tight Granite and Yorkstone paving tolerances. On Briggate, all signs of its former identity as a busy road with thousands of cars passing through it every day have been removed, transforming it into a pleasant and colourful street. The particular design chosen was an outstanding mixture of two complementary materials, with quality of the material and tightness of tolerance being particularly important to create the finished effect.

Brunel Academy, Bristol

Enderby park and ride, Leicester

Huntingdon Road, Cycleway, Cambridgeshire

As part of its transport strategy, Cambridgeshire County Council identified the Huntingdon Road cycleway for improvement. The cycleway needed separating from the main carriageway, whilst still allowing cars or bicycles to easily mount or dismount the kerb and safely regain control. The Council chose a hybrid cycleway design, raised above the existing carriageway using single kerb segregation.

Leicester regeneration project

We worked closely with several teams to offer a contemporary design to help regenerate several areas of Leicester through use of high quality and hard wearing natural products.

Lightweight Kerbs, Kent City Council

Working with multiple organisations, we developed a new lightweight product that demonstrated it can comply with HSE recommendations and be more cost effective than traditional products.

MoD Facility, Wiltshire

Moor Street Station, Birmingham

Nottingham Tram

In 2011, Nottingham City Council kicked off a multi-million pound contract to more than double the size of the city’s busy tram line. The 17Km of extra track would extend the tram system to the south and south west of the city, providing passengers with a direct link to national train services.
