Building Papers

Premium underlays for lead roofing, cladding and weathering applications.

Expansion Joints

For use with lead lined gutters with restricted falls and as a low cost alternative to the restructuring of existing details. Also available for copper, zinc and stainless steel.

Benefits:

  • An economic option to drip joints on shallow falls.
  • Suitable for stone cornices and eaves gutters.
  • Life expectancy greater than 20 years.

Expansion Joint Plus is a new product which incorporates a strip of BS EN 12588, Code 3 lead covering the neoprene section of the joint. This modification has the advantages of:

  • Providing an uninterrupted appearance to the leadwork.
  • Protecting the neoprene against UV radiation.
  • Providing better resistance to damage from foot traffic.
  • Extending the life of the joint.

Flashpoint

An easy to use, neutral cure, all weather alternative to sand and cement mortar.

Flexislates

Lead Flexislates provide a weathertight joint where flue pipes and soil stacks penetrate a slate, tile, asphalt, felt or lead covered roof. The flexibility of the lead allows the slate base to be dressed to tiles of all profiles, avoiding wind uplift or chatter problems.

Premium Flexislate based are cut from BS EN 12588 Code 4 rolled lead sheet. The neoprene conical upstand is vulcanized at elevated temperature and pressure in contact with the base, forming a very strong rubber-metal bond.

Two conical upstand profiles are available, flat for 0–30° roof pitches and pitched for 20–40° roof pitches. Premium Flexislates are able to operate satisfactorily at temperatures between -40 to +100°C and have an expected life of greater than 20 years, if correctly installed.

Benefits:

  • For use on any pitched or flat roof.
  • Suits all common pipe diameters and pitch.
  • One size slate will seal pipes of diameter 25–125 mm.
  • Suitable for flue pipes at temperatures up to 100°C.
  • Also available in aluminium.

Geotextiles

Needle-punched, non-woven geotextile polyester materials in two unit weights – 200 and 220 g/m². Suitable for uneven surfaces, e.g. traditional timber boards. They do not rot or cause adhesion and allow space for air flow between lead sheet and substrate.

Advantages:

  • Reduce drag arising from thermal movement of lead sheet over substrate.
  • Assist in the protection of lead against condensation corrosion, or chemical attack from stone, concrete or timber.
  • Protect lead from damage due to any uneven nature of substrate and provide support against downward pressure.

Hall Clips

For fixing flashings up to 20 times faster than with lead wedge.

Lead Fixings

Copper and stainless steel annular ring shank fixings for metal roofing as recommended by trade.

Lead Restorers

Removes dirt and grime to improve, restore and enhance the appearance of lead sheet.

Lead Slates

Code 4 lead vulcanized to a neoprene conical upstand.

Patination Oil

Designed to aid the prevention of unsightly white staining on newly fixed lead work.

Rolled Lead Sheet (Envirolead)

Rolled Lead Sheet is manufactured to BS EN 12588 and made from 100% recycled raw material, is reliably sourced and processed by the latest rolling mill technology to ensure uniform thickness and maximum lifespan.

Can be supplied in any width from 150–2400 mm in Codes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in standard lengths of 3 and 6 m.

Wood Cored Roll

Recommended for detailing and expansion of traditional lead, zinc and copper roofs.

ZinFlash

ZinFlash is soft zinc that is exceptionally malleable and ideally suitable for flashings. It is flexible, pliable and simple to dress to the contours of a roof and the profile of a tile. It can be used in all applications traditionally associated with lead: canopies, dormers, bay windows, gutters etc, finally weathering to a light grey colour.

ZinFlash conforms to BS EN 1179.
