The Darley Street scheme was the first in a programme of proposed 'streetscape' improvements aimed at revitalising the historic retail heart of Bradford and transforming this part of the city centre from a cluttered, poor quality environment into a piece of high quality, well designed 21st Century public realm. Natural stone paving materials, trees and stainless steel street furniture formed the main elements of the scheme, which was constructed by Birse Civils. Bedding and jointing products for streetscape applications were a major concern for the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) at design stage. Ultrascape Pro-Bed HS, Ultrascape Pro-Prime and Ultrascape Flowpoint all met its demanding specification.
