PassivGlas™ Ultimate is an advanced fenestration technology that involves creating a highly insulating retrofit unit by enclosing a PassivGlas™ VIG with a thermally broken spacer bar airgap and the addition of a fully toughened glass.
Unlike traditional double-glazed windows, PassivGlas™ Ultimate use air alongside the VIG, to further minimize heat and acoustic transfer through the unit.
Features and benefits:
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate can be manufactured into unit thickness of 20 mm and upwards, to be utilized into existing frames, allowing endless retrofit possibilities.
- Offers reduced U-values to as low as 0.44 W/m²K, whilst maintaining up to 70% light transmittance.
- The minimum glass unit thickness available in PassivGlas™ Ultimate is 20 mm with a weight of 22.5 kg/m².
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate can be backed with various glass combinations, including obscure, self-clean, solar control etc., making it a flexible option for specifiers to meet their performance requirements.
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate Laminated can achieve an Rw: 41dB (UKAS accredited)
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate can be backed with various laminated products to comply with Building Regulations Part Q, Part O, Part E and Part L.
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate can be manufactured to house various magnetic or electronic internal blinds.
- PassivGlas™ Ultimate is an ideal solution when existing frames are in perfect working order but require an enhanced overall thermal and acoustic performance.
- Can be leaded to match existing or new designs.
- Can be fitted with Duplex spacer bar systems, where required.
- No evacuation port to impede view
- Appearance of a standard IGU but with Triple glazed performance.
Overall frame U-values as low as:
- Aluminium 0.8 W/m2K.
- Steel (thermally broken) 1.2 W/m2K .
- Timber 0.78 W/m2K.
- PVC-U 1.0 W/m2K.
