Application

Structural thermal break connection plate is suitable where penetration or transition exists in the building envelop creating a thermal bridge:

  • Parapets.
  • Slab/ floor edge.
  • Column base.
  • Roof penetrations.
  • Custom windowsills.
  • Roof edge.
  • Slab to foundation.
  • Foundation to wall.
  • Concrete balconies.
  • Custom moulding for over-insulating.

Description

Reducing heat flow within a building’s thermal envelope reduces energy consumption as well as potential condensation issues. This structural thermal break connection plate significantly reduces energy lost from thermal bridging in building envelope connections. It is a high strength, polyurethane material made in several densities to support a wide range of loading conditions. Due to it’s closed cell structure, it does not absorb water or moisture and has limited creep under continuous load.

Features and benefits:

  • Exceptional insulator.
  • High compressive strength, allowing it to be employed supporting large compressive loads with little deflection.
  • Offers economical, code-required compliance for cold room column base applications.
  • Reduces energy consumption and potential condensation issues.
  • Can support and transfer loads up to 17.2 N/mm² while providing minimal energy loss.
  • Thermal break material is available in multiple thicknesses and can be bonded to create increased thicknesses to achieve a specific R value.
  • Manufactured from ultra-high density rigid polyurethane blocks.
