Description

Saflex® FlySafe™  3D is a highly effective, low-coverage, bird friendly, polyvinyl butyral (PVB) based interlayer, designed to reduce or eliminate the frequency of bird collisions. It brings visual markers (<1% as coverage) for the birds into the laminated glass through the use of a technology and proven pattern that allows an aesthetic, low visual obstruction solution for buildings occupants.

Features and benefits:

  • Highly effective.
  • Durable choice - requires only normal laminated glass cleaning and maintenance.
  • Minimal visual obscuring with use of optimally placed sequins to avert birds.
  • Does not compromise on aesthetics.
  • Demonstrably met or exceeded many regulations for laminated safety glazing.
  • Noise abatement and forced entry/ exit resistance.
  • UV screening and storm protection when in the proper configuration.
  • Extremely durable when exposed to natural weathering (including exposed edges in outdoor applications).
  • Combatable and durable when laminated in intimate contact with most infrared reflective, metal coated, ceramic frit and printed glasses.
  • Compatible with Saflex Acoustic, Structural, and Storm interlayers, enabling architects and glass laminators to mitigate bird strikes without compromising on safety, security, structural integrity, aesthetics, UV screening, or acoustic control.
  • Can help builders achieve LEED® SSpc55, "Bird collision deterrence" credentials.
