Suitable for applications typically filled by gypsum panels, cement boards, and drywall such as:
MgO (Magnesium Oxide) boards are similar to cement board, gypsum panels, or drywall, but is stronger, fire-resistant, and more resistant to mold, mildew, moisture, and weather. It is also known as sulphite board, sulphite panels, or magnesium board.
Magnesium oxide is a type of mineral cement containing magnesium (chemical symbol Mg) and oxygen (chemical symbol O), created under heat and pressure during the manufacturing process. It has characteristics similar to stone. When combined with non-woven fabric, fiberglass mesh, and wood cellulose, it produces a strong panel.
MgO boards do not contain asbestos, formaldehyde, ammonia, silica, or benzene chemicals, which have negative environmental effects. They can be cut, scored, nailed, screwed, or hung without special tools. The boards can be finished with two coats of paint, wallpaper, or render. They are safe to work with on-site, as they do not produce carcinogenic dust, fly ash, or other toxins.
