Application

Intended for use on architectural metalwork, external and internal, including aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel, cast metals, galvanized and zinc-sprayed substrates.

Suitable for the following environments: Interior Dry (C1), Rural (C2), Urban (C3), Industrial (C4), Coastal (C5).

Typical applications include:

Description

The Quarry Range offers a deep-matt, realistic stone-effect finish for architectural metalwork as a great alternative to real stone.

Features and benefits:

  • Aesthetic finish: excellent textured natural stone and glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) effects. Very low matt sheen levels giving the appearance of solid, natural stone.
  • Versatile application: Quarry coatings offer a great alternative planning option for high-quality, lightweight stone-effect constructions.
  • Advantages against real stone: no weight issues, reduced structural loading, no dust and suppression needed, no heavy logistical issues, ease of installation, cost effective, has applications where stone can't be used. An ideal alternative to stone cladding.
  • High performing finish: excellent for architectural applications, both internal and external, and ideally suited to public spaces and high-traffic areas due to its superior resistance to wear and tear.
  • Extremely durable: Quarry offers long-term cosmetic and functional protection for a long-lasting finish. It offers good resistance to scratches and marking, it's easy to clean, durable and repairable.
  • Weather resistant: Quarry is highly weather resistant and UV stable.
  • International Standards of Quality Assurance: Quarry Range meets Qualicoat and Qualisteelcoat standards - the International Gold Standards in coating systems for aluminium and steel, providing the highest levels of quality assurance.
  • Pretreatment compatibility: Quarry is compatible with a variety of anti-corrosion treatments including Bradleys Qualizinc Ultra-Life Arc Metal Spray. Used in conjunction with Bradleys Bondakote Primer system creates excellent adhesion and greater longevity of the Quarry finish.

Sustainability:

Quarry offers several environmental benefits within the parameters of ISO 14001 environmental management system:

  • Low VOC emissions: Quarry finishes emit minimal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air. VOCs contribute to air pollution and can harm human health.
  • Efficient application: when you apply Quarry powder coating, about 90% of what’s sprayed adheres to the metal surface. The remaining powder can be collected, filtered, and reused. Any leftover powder is safely disposed of as inert material.
  • Lightweight materials: Quarry powder coating is a lightweight material adding no significant weight to the substrate which contributes to energy-efficient designs.
  • Elimination of hazardous substances: Quarry finishes do not require hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
  • Enhanced durability: Quarry-finished surfaces are highly durable, reducing the need for frequent repair. Long-lasting finishes mean fewer resources used over time.
  • TGIC-free: eliminating the risk of TGIC related adverse health effects.
  • Promotes sustainability: Quarry-finished products are more sustainable due to their durability, reducing the demand for new raw materials.
