Application

Designed to provide a stop to the render at window and door frames and at changes to the facade to produce a straight finish and protection against impact. Can also be used for internal plastering applications and all standard rendering applications, external wall insulation systems, and timber frame. The product is safe to handle and after installation it has no sharp edges so is therefore also suitable for use in prisons and schools.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) stop beads for rendering and plastering applications.


Features and benefits:

  • Designed to provide function and speed on all external and internal rendering and plastering applications.
  • Gives a good finish to every type of render, whether it be through colour or a traditional sand and cement.
  • Available in a variety of colours.
  • Manufactured from exterior grade, impact resistant, UV-stable PVC, providing a cost effective alternative to stainless steel beads.
  • Will not to stain or corrode (like with galvanized steel beads), reducing spalling and impact damage.
  • Reduced installation time.
  • Not affected by severe weather conditions, and can be specified in areas of high moisture or high salt.
  • Fast and easy to cut to length with tin snips or a fine toothed hacksaw, and is safer to handle than cut metal.
  • Fixing is no different from steel beads, and standard industry practice can be followed.
  • Supplied in 2.5 and 3.0 m lengths.
  • Durable; impact resistant and dissipates shock waves.
  • Can be cleaned or painted in the same way as render.
  • Has a high recycled content, as much as 100% for white, and the product is fully recyclable.
  • Eliminates cold bridging; suitable for all habitable climates.
  • Fit for purpose for the lifetime of the render; at least 25 years.
  • Low Ecopoint score of 0.004 kg.
  • Ecologically benign; non-hazardous in water; non-hazardous if ingested; does not release substances into the atmosphere.


Performance/ Approvals:

  • Manufactured in accordance with the British and European standard for the design requirements of metal beads and lath (BS EN 13658-2: 2005).
  • BBA certified.
  • Class 1Y fire rated.
  • Manufactured in accordance with the British and European Standard for the design and application of external render (BS EN 13914-1: 2016), which stipulates that only PVC beads and stainless steel beads can be used in all applications including situations of high atmospheric or background moisture and high atmospheric or background salt.
