-
Application
  • Acoustic ceiling spray for use in offices, sports halls, public spaces, auditoria, classrooms and theatres.
  • Noise reduction spray for ceilings and walls above 2 metres.

Please note that it is important not to use moisture resistant plasterboard as this can cause staining of wet applied products. Oil based stain barrier paints can be used to prevent this. Please consult Oscar Acoustics for more information.

A minimum of 12.5 mm thick plasterboard, installed to British Gypsum specification should be used.

Acoustic spray application by Oscar Acoustics trained in-house teams. Consult Oscar Acoustics for relevant acoustic plaster preparation details.

Description

An attractive, seamless, spray applied acoustic finish with a medium texture for noise reverberation control. Naturally safe recycled materials with low embodied energy. Spray applied directly onto gypsum board, concrete, steel sheet and most other surfaces. Can be applied to flat, domed vaulted, corrugated/ profiled and other shapes of ceiling. An excellent alternative to rigid acoustic panel ceilings for a seamless acoustic finish, without design compromise. Can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste.

Features and benefits:

  • SonaSpray is a recycled acoustic spray and acoustic plaster product range that not only satisfy sustainable design certification systems like BREEAM, SKA, Living Building Challenge and LEED, they also tick every box for indoor environmental and air quality.
  • The SonaSpray acoustic spray and acoustic plaster range is M1 Classified as Low Emitting Building Materials (the top achievable class), and is compliant with CDPH/CA Section 01350 and are GREENGUARD Gold Certified for Indoor Air Quality.
  • GREENGUARD Gold Products are now confirmed to show compliance with BREEAM rating system HEA Indoor Air Quality and ensure that a product has met some of the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of VOC’s into indoor air. The acoustic spray and acoustic plaster range is also covered by an Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with ISO 14025.
  • All these credentials enable the SonaSpray acoustic spray and acoustic plaster product range to contribute towards satisfying many features under the WELL Building Standard®: an international performance-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind, with a mission to improve human health and wellbeing through the built environment.
  • The acoustic spray adhesive provides a strong, durable and resilient bond.
  • The sound absorbing spray can be applied to virtually any substrate configuration.
  • Noise reduction insulation insulates by creating dead air macroscopic spaces between and within the hollow cellulose fibres.

Fire rating:

B-s1, d0 and Class 0 to BS 476 - significantly betters the requirements of the new Approved Document B providing little to no smoke and absolutely no droplets, assisting in the safe escape of occupants.

Emissions:

  • M1 emission class certified for building materials (best class).
  • Compliant with CDPH/CA Section 01350.
  • GREENGUARD Gold Certified for Indoor Air Quality.
  • BREEAM rating system HEA Indoor Air Quality.
  • WELL Building Standard®.

Environmental standard:

  • Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with ISO 14025 - EN 15804.
  • Living Building Challenge compliant.
  • BREEAM.
  • LEED.
  • SKA.

Flangeless fittings:

90% of flangeless fittings do not work properly with any acoustic finish. If you are specifying a flangeless fitting, please contact Oscar Acoustics for advice.

Sound absorption:

Acoustic testing has been carried out against concrete. Substrates likely to provide increased performance include plasterboard with the use of an air gap behind, rib deck or profiled metal sheet. Please contact Oscar Acoustics’ technical department for free design assistance.

Material/Recycled content:

Minimum 80% post consumer recycled high grade paper.

Embodied carbon:

Can effectively lower the carbon footprint of a building project by sequestering rich stores of carbon for the life of the structure or application.
