Tribe Hotel, Manchester

OVERVIEW

TRIBE Manchester Airport is a confident, design-led nine-storey hotel development clad in Proteus SR and SC systems. The façade reflects the brand’s modern identity while meeting the durability and performance demands of a high-traffic airport environment.

Located within the growing Airport City Manchester district, the newly constructed hotel was designed by Studio Moren to deliver comfort, efficiency and a strong visual presence. Just minutes from the main terminals and transport links, the project supports the area’s wider regeneration plans to establish a major business and hospitality hub. The clean, geometric elevations play a key role in expressing TRIBE’s modern, design-led identity, with cladding materials selected for their precision, durability and contribution to long-term performance.

The external envelope uses a combination of Proteus SC Tray and Proteus SR systems in a curated palette of RAL colours. Aluminium panels in 5083 and 1050 grades were fabricated to strict tolerances, creating a lightweight but robust rainscreen system. Bold orange window pods add rhythm and contrast across the elevations, while matt black soffits bring definition to the building’s edges.
